Here I test the Sebo dry carpet cleaning system with Sebo's Duo P cleaning powder. Look out for a bit of Shake n Vac action! Facebook Page / ibaisaic I'm on Twitter! / ibaisaic
I have a low pile 5 X 8 wool area rug and use Duo P powder cleaner on it twice a year. I don't have the machine so I use a soft bristle brush with a pole and scrub it in and leave it in over night. I vacuum it up in the morning and the results are spectacular. It's a great product. Great review Roger!
had a big stain in the lounge room left by the tenants in my rental house. was gonna try and get it out with bissel carpet washer but had a couple of duoP boxes and though i'd try. scrubbed it in with the lid brush and went for lunch. when i got back vacced it up with a X1sebo…stain gone! pretty impressed actually, gonna buy this applicator machine seems a lot easier than the carpet washer style machines there's too much cleanup/maintenance with wet washer style machines
squirrelscuba The Duo machine is very easy to use and a great alternative to wet cleaning, but I still like to use a wet extraction type machine from time to time.
Lindhaus also has a Dry Cleaning System and they solved the problem of the vacuum brushing the powder into the vacuum by giving the buyer a plastic guard that is installed in front of the inlet, there system works really well.
I have been uploading a new vacuum video every Friday for the past few months, so there will be another new video next Friday with additional videos on Monday and Wednesday.
Looks similar in operation to the envirodri system we have at work, uses a damp powder (feels like damp sand) or as they call it "micro sponges" which are put onto the carpet and then scrubbed in by the rotating brush machine (basically a bigger version of what's on display here), the leftover powder is then vacuumed up (we have a Sebo BS36 for this use). There is also a pre-treating spray for more stubborn stains that is applied before the powder.Works OK but for normal carpet cleaning (where the carpet has the time to dry) and when we have wet stains we have a custom made twin motor Alltec which when used with hot water and their own cleaning powder/solution it does a better job.
Here across the pond, these machines are usually demonstrated inside a square of tape applied to the carpet. This allows for a "before and after" effect. Would love to see a treated area as opposed to an untreated area on the same carpet. I've been reluctant to invest in this machine because I'm uncertain how its power and brush speed would compare to the Host machine.
I run a carpet cleaning company,i have used this method shown many times, but the best system for removing dirt and stains is and always has been hot water extraction, 90% of carpet cleaners use HWE and there is a reason for that, the public want the best results, good results mean recommendations and further work.
That’s good, most people complain when I don’t demonstrate a machine on a carpet from a crime scene. I may show this again on a rug that I’ve dirtied to demonstrate that this cleaner isn’t meant to remove tough stains and dirt. Like the Dyson Zorb powder, the Sebo is intended to maintain a carpet and not remove years old dirt. For that, buy a Bissell Big Green Clean Machine.
@@ibaisaic Yeah a crime scene would be on the opposite end of the spectrum. Even a moderately soiled carpet would be suffice. Another YT'er cleaned an entrance rug that was moderately soiled and appeared to get good results, although the camera doesn't show the part where the stain disappears.
@@ibaisaic Also slightly concerned about the slightest gritty feel even after second vacuum. I am not sure how this product would fit into the commercial carpet cleaning world... even with your excellent presentation of it... :)
+fouziaperveen I have done that with several of my carpet washer videos and am currently getting my test rug dirty again ready for another demonstration. I intend on trying the Sebo machine on my dirty rug at some point.
Most residential carpet cleaners use a TM. But these are fantastic at agitation. And if your carpets want a spruce it's perfect. Again, another but. Most carpet cleaners quickly go onto a to or orbital for VLM system. For £200 odd quid it's simply brilliant. You just need a good Sebo cleaner. I use one, my carpets look brand new and smell incredible. There are alternatives to the Sebo powder which has now become much cheaper. I'd say a bargain!
We have very old carpets (more than 15 years) which have only ever been vacuumed. My concern is that the pile will disintegrate with hot water solutions. Is that a reasonable assumption and so you'd recommend this dry technique instead? Thanks.
I don't remember saying that, but then I haven't watch this video for a long time so I must have. Yes, even though I say so myself, that's a funny line. I should have a day every year when I commemorate all the dustmites that have lost their lives during the making of my videos.
Hi ibaisaic! I'm thinking of buying the Sebo Duo Brush machine for a specific purpose and I'd truly appreciate your input and experienced opinion. I want this Sebo Duo for my large 10 x 12 foot area rugs and the low pile carpet in my bedroom. I can't use most wet/water type carpet washers because it would get my hardwood floors underneath wet and in my bedroom I don't want damp carpets even for a day. I was thinking of area rugs every month and wall to wall carpet use in between the wetter methods. Any Thoughts? Thank you
+Jon McConnell I haven't tested the duo machine on heavy soiling, though that's an idea for a future video, but it will certainly maintain the appearance of carpets and rugs. You could always buy some powder to try out before deciding on the machine. Sebo do a clean box that contains the powder and a built in brush, but would be quite time consuming on a large area. You can also get a Sebo Daisy which is a hand powered brush for applying the powder, but the Duo machine will give the best results.
+ibaisaic thank you so much! That is a great idea trying the powder first with the Sebo Daisy. Also we have a "no shoes inside" house so I never have "heavy soil so it's a matter of wanting to freshen up my area rugs every 4 to 6 weeks. I was very impressed by Sebo's "permanent marker on the hand removal video". It looks to be a great product. Thanks!
Added: also ibaisaic what is your opinion of the Dyson Zorb cleaning powder? Have you ever used the Dyson Zorb, if so which performed better for you.. Sebo or Dyson Zorb? I'm thinking (since it's cheaper than the Sebo powder) Zorb would work great with the Sebo Duo as well. Thank you!
+Jon McConnell I have used the Zorb powder but can't remember how it performed. It is more like perfumed sawdust than powder and does not absorb into the carpet like the Sebo Duo powder. It has a nice citrus smell though.
+ibaisaic Thank you, I appreciate all your help! I decided to buy the Sebo Daisy and both Sebo and Zorb, then I'm going to test them on my car floor mats, they get more muck than inside my house. Quick added question... were you satisfied with the quality and build of the Sebo Duo?? Is it worth the money and I hear it fluffs the nap beautifully? Thanks
Raymond Fowler I don't know where you can rent these, but they are easy to get hold of on the interner. Just search Sebo Duo and you should find several suppliers. Cleanstore and Candor Services are a couple I can think of.
going to trouble you one last time...ive just got me a dyson 41...I want to vacuum on hard floor...kitchen and bathroom...but cant turn the brushes off....also is it harmful to the hoover if you use the brushes on hard floor?...many thanks for your help..
I believe that you can't use the brushroll on hard floors because it scratches the floor itself. Some brushrolls are designed for hard floor use though, such as the Dyson V6 fluffy.
