Cheers for this vid used it to repair water damaged k1 pet find, getting that button off was a pain till i saw ur method lol. All the components inside r such great quality and engineering
VacLab This EU thing is nonsense. Now the most powerful vacuums are 700w watts and that's not all. Now here is vacuums with 500 watt motors and even less. I guess I need to order truckload of energy wasting motors to save the future of vacuum cleaners performance 😅😎
Very good - I did wonder if the circuit board would be able to handle the higher current draw, but it clearly can do. I presumed if you put a higher wattage motor in, that you would also need to replace the driver board with one capable of supporting the higher load from the motor. Its nice to see the 1200W motor gives much better results, so imagine how high the suction would be with the older 2100W motor that these originally had before the EU started its "power lowering" regime back in 2014. The power of the Miele machines with 2200W motors is immense!
Thanks! I think that the 1200 watt motor is still safe to the circuit board. Above it and it's a bit risky. Motor manual says that the 2100w motor needs black wire to the temperature switch, so it would be too much. Performance increase was very noticeable and 63 euros for the genuine German Sebo motor wasn't too much. I really like this K1 with the ET-1 powerhead. I have used it a lot lately. ET-1 is amazing and it's surprisingly easy and light to use even on the hard floors. My Miele C3 is more powerful, but I am wondering what is the real wattage of its motor. Models in the US pull maximum at 7.5 from the airflow meter and my C3 pulls over 9. So hard to believe, that it has only 1200w motor like the seller said. I really need to get the power meter what shows how many watts it uses.
The C3 did also come with a 1600W motor, which was used in the Powerline models after the 2014 regulations came in. Its possible your C3 could contain the 1600W motor, so yes, putting the machine onto a power draw meter would be very useful. When I use my Miele 2200W machines on the power meter, it reads that on maximum power setting, it only uses around 1900W, so the 2200W rating does not alwys mean that the machine will actually draw 2200W at all times. Its rated 2200W MAX, and usually the nominal power will be well below that. If your 700W machine was put on a power meter, it may well draw below 700W, as the rating on the label will be the maximum power the machine will be capable of.
MadAboutHoovers Sounds like my C3 might be the 1600 watt version. 2100 watt models would most likely pull over 10 from the airflow meter. Miele has designed the C3 very well. Airflow path is simple and smooth for maximum performance.
If anything the 700w motor needs three rows of blades ( a 3 stage) and a steeper pitch to increase airflow so that it could amply drive a turbo in basic versions. Deeper breathing.
They need to design the turbine so that it doesn't overload the motor. 700 watt motor can only spin certain amount of blades. Otherwise it's overloaded. 1200 watt motor can spin much more blades resulting more airflow/suction.
That’s absolutely asinine that they restrict the wattage of your machines across the pond. Glad you can do a work around though. Keep the 700w motor as a spare or sell it?
Hank's Small Engine Repair EU regulations are really bad. Before those we had over 2000 watt motors in our vacuums. My parents has my ex Philips Performer Pro canister. It has 2100 watt motor and 500 airwatts (507 aw measured by the consumer reports). Now airwatts are less than 200 aw. I might try to fit the Sebo motor to my Shark NV340. Now it has low quality 700w screamer motor.
Vacuumtests So my favorite Felix can be even more powerful......That just makes my morning and its 5 am right now. Do you want to do the swap out? If so I'm going to follow right along with you. I so wish I could be close by when you do these modifications to your vacuums. Thanks mate.
Sebo Felix motor is a bit different than in the Sebo Airbelt K1-3. If you live in the EU-country it's possible to upgrade Felix motor. I won't be upgrading my Felix motor because it's already powerful enough for me. It now pulls 6 from the airflow meter (700w motor). My K1 canister used to pull only 4.5 (700w) and now 7 (1200w). Canister vacs need more powerful motor because the long hose will eat part of the airflow.
How did you manage to fit a power head on a K1? I thought these weren’t supplied with power and only allowed for a turbo nozzle. If you have a video to explain how to do it that would be great!
Miele motor absolytely not fit in to Shark or Sebo vacuums. Please do not even think about it. I get these request time to time and I always say the same thing. Don't even think about it. You will ruin the vacuum. There is a reason why vacuums have motors made for them.
How is your K holding up? Any durability problems ? I'm planning on upgrading my euro 700w model aswell, I have found a new 1800W motor, I'm wondering if it would be too much for the stock electric board. Perkele, I recognise the Finnish accent instantly lmao.
I gave it to my parents. It still works perfectly 👍. Putting 1800w motor to 700w model might cause heat issues. These vacuums have thermal fuse what might cause problems. It's hard to say does it work. And oh yes I am Finnish 😁
I found a D4 motor on ebay it looks the same as the K3 motor the difference is it pulls 12 amps instead of the K3 10.5 amps. I'm curious to know if you think swapping them out would be possible
@@vacuumtests9225 Thanks for the reply do you think this would be a plug & play swap or would I need to replace any other components to compensate for the additional amperage?
Just curious, but is it possible to upgrade an epower's 890w motor to a late 00's 2100w motor from a K1 pet? Would this also require a mod to the powerboard and other components or can you just slot/replace the motor with no mods
That’s awesome! 😍 I really wish I can do that to my vacuum, I have 2 miele swing H1 vacuums, one is 550w with power head, the second is 1400w and no power head/socket, I’m really thinking of moving the 1400w motor to the other miele but I worry the pcb or something els will blow up😅 have you ever done somthing similar??
I have done quite radical motor swap: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DeEng-aQIQg.html It worked fine, but NOTE! Bigger motor runs hotter and pcb might cut out the power because thermal overload protection. I know some people with that problem and I had it in my Shark powerhead with Miele ph pcb: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qmsajHehu1U.html Good luck 😁
Vacuumtests do they have any big hardware stores in your country? We got home depot, Lowes, ace hardware, Menards just to name a few. For brands, shoot I don't think there's anything we don't have readily available. Many avenues to purchase stuff second hand as well. I don't know about other countries but to me America feels like a garden of Eden from a consumers point of view. I often find myself asking is there anything on this planet we don't have available to us? Lol
We have several big hardware stores in each city. For example nearest to me (I live in the country) are 15-18 miles away. Selection of brands is wide. Dewalt, Makita, Bosch, Hilti, Milwaukee, Festool and a lot more. I usually just buy some cheap noname brands for light work. Motonet store is my favorite, because they also sell car spare parts + much more: www.motonet.fi/fi/kategoria/2793/155090/Akkutyokalut-ja-sahkotyokalut?mm
im glad you got the same options too. now you just have to earn enough money to buy stuff. cant blame you living out in the sticks. cities are awesome for shopping and jobs but they all completely suck for residing in. its nice to get away from it all, out where its safe and quiet. what kind of background do you have, like jobs? im a formally educated welder but just started a lucrative career as a CNC machinist in aerospace.
Billy Darley Cities are awesome to explore, but living in the city is completely different experience. I really like living in the country. I work in the woodworking industry.
