I’m a Florida alum, and without a doubt Neyland is one of the top 2-3 stadiums. Not only is it one of the biggest, it’s on the river, which adds to the tailgate atmosphere, and the actual inside of it is SO nice. It’s nicer than most NFL stadiums
Went to watch Georgia play them in 2019. Made the trip up to Knoxville and found a nice spot to tailgate with some other Georgia fans. I liked how there was a lot of public parking nearby.
I've lived my whole life within sight of Neyland stadium so I've done a lot of tailgating there. Besides the tailgating the river is a huge bonus because it's accessable for all the rich people who live in West Knoxville to drive their boats from their homes to the stadium. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe Tennessee is the only team in the SEC with a "Navy" that shows up at every game. That really adds to the whole game day experience.
@@IgnoretheButter The SEC is part of the Power 5 conferences. And also, probably only the Big 10 Conference rivals the SEC with the number of huge stadiums. The 100k variety that is.
Texas a&m only has chair back seats on one half because the other half is meant for the student section and at A&M it is expected you stand throughout the entire game! Great vid!
Dude hands down best stadium in America, I’ve been to a lot and I am a life long Knoxville boy ….. but no other sec team comes close. LSU is the closest tho
My dad lived there and said it was absolutely horrible lol he said that it was one of the cheapest places to live on campus and therefore was wildly outdated loud and dirty
@@cman16 How far into my online presence did you have to dig to figure it out, and was it worth the time? But beyond that, I’m doubting any non-Tennessee fans would disagree with our sentiment. The game on Saturday showcased Neyland at its best yet again.
Neyland at 7 is a JOKE. No way The Swamp, Darrel K, Bryant Denny, or Sanford Stadium should be ahead. I’m not mad with Death Valley or Kyle Field being ahead but I still don’t agree. You’re very wrong.
Cody Cupp:. I prefer someone who isn't so familiar with the SEC and American football pick their favorite stadiums because they aren't biased. Plus he is basing his choice on how the stadiums look to his eyes and not how loud and wild a stadium's fans get.
@@beaujac311 Yeah, but saying Jordan-Hare isn’t all the vibrant on the inside is a head scratcher. The stadiums have fans in them when the games are played, and that makes JHS, Neyland, and Tiger Stadium far better than what they look like without them.
For out of town visitors the best thing about Vanderbilt's stadium is that its a couple of miles from Broadway and even closer to Midtown in Nashville where a person can have a good time.
That can be kind of a negative tho. There’s SO much to do, so why sit in an uncomfortable bleacher for 3 hours when you’re in Nashville? Same problem southern cal has
Neyland is the only true two level coliseum in the sport, with a capacity just under 102,000, and when big games come like last Saturday, one of the loudest places you'll ever experience. I guess since this is coming from an Aussie, I'll give it a pass, but it's easily a top 2-3 stadium in the conference, and probably top 5 in the nation.
Neyland at 7?????????? That is wild I’m not even a Tennessee fan but I’ve been to Neyland and a lot of these other stadiums and nothing beats rocky top. This is an absolute crime. Oklahoma and Texas aren’t in the sec yet why even add them
Whoop!! Gig’em Aggies!! You did forget to mention the new park that’s seated right outside Kyle Field, the different features just outside the stadium like the 12th Man Statue and that all the previous Reveille’s, the Queen of Aggieland, are buried right outside with a little score board so they can watch the game!
Get some updated footage of Neyland plz, and take a look at the outside of the stadium from the ground like you do with the others, you might find it's better than 7th!!
Lars Cederberg:. Sanford Stadium is a piecemeal stadium. They built parts of it over the last 90 years. When they did make additions they made sure to keep it looking like it was design from an original drawing. I think they've done a great job of it.
@@dawgvet7756 We are about to make another expansive remodel around GATE 9 next year. Ripping a chunk out to put in a standing room only area, and another beer garden for the common folks. Another plan is to extend the upper deck around the top (east side) of the stadium adding another 15 - 20k seats. I doubt this plan will ever become reality, that darned train track and graveyard.
This is a great idea for a series, since a lot of teams have been moving conferences since your last FBS stadiums videos. I would personally love to see the Big XII with Cincinnati, Houston, BYU, and UCF added! Also, on an unrelated note, did you release a video of the stadiums of the WAC, an FCS conference? Or did I just miss it?
Few little known facts about UGA's Sanford Stadium. Sanford stadium is actually built over a still active creek (Tanyard creek) UGA's hedges were planted in 1929 and the hedges today are descendants (cuttings) of the original hedges. The hedges were temporarily removed for the 1996 Olympics soccer games, they were found to be suffering from nematodes and healthy cuttings from the original plants were sent to 2 separate, then "secret", nurseries owned by UGA grads and those cuttings are what replaced the "original" hedges. UGA's field is known as playing "Between the Hedges" (It is has been re-named Dooley field but it will always be known as playing Between the Hedges) Auburn's hedges were planted in 1987 when then head coach Pat Dye ( a UGA grad was there. BTW UGA's coach Dooley is an Auburn grad ) Unbeknownst to some, there is a chain link fence hidden by the hedges. There was a student streaker at my graduation from UGA in 1986 that was chased, tried to hurdle the hedges and missed. He found the chain link the hard way :)
@@laysonsamson8749 The tunnel is home to a LOT of endangered bats, so its protected and a crime to trespass. Besides, who really wants to walk through all those Auburn tears anyways? Its prolly best to just try climbing The Steg if you want excitement. Run the Trifecta before you graduate.
@@firechicken2011 oh wow I had no idea about the bats. Interesting. Well yeah I reckon I can always run the trifecta although I believe they removed the water tower by Macon highway (I think climbing that was part of the trifecta right?). I imagine it’ll flood with Tennessee tears soon and be too hard to traverse anyways lol
Neyland is pretty rough when you get to certain parts. It's old, but that's just 'experience' and we wouldn't have it any other way. Atmosphere can't be beat ANYWHERE. The whole world saw that last Saturday night. GBO
The reason the distribution of chair backs at kyle field is so strange is because the student section stands for the whole game and all those bleacher seats are for the students.
Neyland Stadium is also full of administrative and faculty offices. Yes, inside the stadium structure itself. So its not just a stadium, but part of the education part of the college. And you made a queen joke....bruh, she's dead.
Since you mentioned the MSU Bulldog being buried under the field perhaps you could have shown the burial ground for the departed Texas Aggies mascots outside the north end zone. At one time there was an opening so the pups could keep an eye on the scoreboard in the south end zone. But when that was closed in several years ago for a seating expansion, a scoreboard was installed outside the stadium so the departed mascots could keep up.
College football is basically a religion in the SEC. So you are literally disparaging adherents temples when you criticize these stadiums. Not placing Neyland at number 1 may have people looking for your head. Lol, thanks for sharing though.
Kyle Field is very nice. It has changed a lot over the years especially since I went to school at A&M. I have seen games at LSU, Oklahoma, and Texas as well... all being dramatically updated since my time. Thanks for sharing the views.
Yeah of I wanted #1 (close but no cigar... **sighs**), but I honestly did like the first pic he showed of A&M's outside so I understand some of his reasoning as to why he would rank them above UGA/Sanford even if I don't like it lol. Been to other stadium's but never another SEC team so I don't personally know anything but our stadium. Never been to Neyland so idrk.
@@jakehawkinsmusic Bryant-Denny has no room to talk. For most of Bama's existence your stadium was small and trash...That is why you played your big games at Legion in Birmingham.
I retired and took a job working at Sanford Stadium (UGA). It has been one of the most satisfying jobs that I have ever had the pleasure to do. Not bad for being over 100 years old.
Your shots of Neyland are prior to the new stadium renovations. They added a viewing deck, added a second massive screen and replaced the old screen. I’ve been to 6 of the 14 stadiums. Neyland is the best hands down.
It wasn’t that long ago that Jordan hare stadium was considered one of the top few stadiums in the conference. It desperately needs some exterior renovations so that it can look more like the nicer ones today. Conversely, Bryant-Denny used to be an absolute joke, but Alabama has poured tons of money into it now that it has replaced Legion Field entirely as their home stadium. Texas A&M’s campus just drips money. It’s no wonder their stadium has been improved up,to this standard. They literally have a women’s indoor track practice facility that is nicer than half these football stadiums.
Yeah Razorback stadium is renovated constantly. Might have less seats for now then the others but It sure gets loud here in Fayetteville when we play. Other stadiums like sc and uk and ole miss u don’t see them sold out seats. Win ark wins a nation championship one year forget the field goal, the who fucking Stadium is coming down so a future renovation is coming soon.
The fact that u have AU behind two freaking schools that aren't even a part of the sec yet is a slap in the face. Arguably one of the greatest atmospheres in cfb, from big games, to rival fan experiences. I can tell that whoever ranked this list has no real knowledge of sec football.
Although I agree with Vanderbilt being last, I am pretty interested in visiting because it is in the middle of Nashville which means there's plenty to do.
Kingdom of Vlogs:. He knows that. If you look under the title of this video in the video it says including Texas and Oklahoma who will be joining soon.
The original horseshoe structure portion of Death Valley (LSU, obviously) contained dorms. Stdent literally lived in the stadium. While games were played.
I remember while I was in high school, our Ag class went to the LSU rodeo in ‘83 or ‘84. We got to LSU early morning and our teacher and assistant principal turned us loose, saying “We don’t want to see you until tonight”. I passed by Tiger Stadium, and I could see students looking out and down towards me. That was pretty cool to see. I walked all over campus and went to Leisure Landing to buy some cassettes. Met up with some classmates later and they took me to a little A-frame building that sold cheap hamburgers, 25¢ I think. It was located on Highland Rd.
Your impression of a Cajun seismologist was awe inspiring! As a UK employee, Kroger Field is a pretty good place to watch a football game. The tailgating is pretty cool, as well. Parking stinks, but that's true for most big stadiums.
I liked Kentucky. Went up there in 1991 for the Ole Miss game and had a great time. My grandparents lived about 1/2 mile from the stadium when they were alive. I recall walking a bit to the stadium but nothing too bad
The first thing I noticed in comparison to our Arkansas stadium was all the close large parking lots! Most people have to park a mile or more from the stadium because the parking lots are mostly for season ticket holders, and their passes can cost a $100 or more per game if you want to park close! The season pass holders have to pay way more than that just for the parking lot pass.
University of Kentucky's stadium is named Commonwealth Stadium. Kroger bought the name of the field, not the stadium. The correct name is Kroger Field at Commonwealth Stadium. I have sent this correction before and got a response, but yet here we are with wrong name again.
Neyland might look impressive on tv, but it is old, nasty, cracks throughout, and the seats in the upper deck are just covered in pigeon poo. They do not take care of that place at all and because of that, Neyland would never be one of the best stadiums. The concourse makes you feel like you are in the 1960's.
@@govakgreatness864 The SWC disbanded, and the Texas legislature forced A&M, Baylor, and Texas Tech to join the Big 8 with texas (who was the only one that both wanted to join, and was desired by the conference). Tech and Baylor were doomed to be in a crappy conference without intervention (see TCU for an example), and A&M wanted to go to the SEC.
I have been to every stadium in our conference, and even though it’s my home stadium, Neyland Stadium has to be 1 or 2. To say it’s not means you e never experienced it, and it shows. Most teams hate coming to Neyland for the fact it houses almost 103,00 screaming fans that sells out every weekend! Just listen to what opposing teams have to say about it, after having played there..
I don’t really understand this list ! What is it based off of because what is special about Alabama field ! It’s obvious TN is #1 UT is def top 3 in the country and #1 as far as environment on game day !
You definitely got #1 right. Kyle Field is an absolute palace. Even the interior corridors are clean and easy to navigate. Also it's hard to see in photos but the stadium seating is built in a very vertical way that puts even the highest seats relatively close to the field.
@@greenwave819 I've been to every SEC stadium for a game. As a stadium Kyle Field is definitely #1. You cans argue maybe LSU has a better environment but that's a big maybe and it very game specific.
Even if Florida Field isn't the best, it is the best looking interior. The four Orange concrete corners where the seat angles change gives it a flashy and unique appearance.
You can tell this guy is not from the southern United States and has a limited scope on what makes a great football stadium. Most college football fans consistently regard Tiger Stadium and Neyland Stadium as 2 of the very best in all of college football, not just the SEC. And I cannot recall any college football fan, regardless of location, ever even mentioning Sanford Stadium as one of the best. Also, Kyle Field is overrated. It’s the 4th best stadium in the SEC West. Bad list.
I simply cannot accept Neyland Stadium's placement on this list. The size, the history, the atmosphere, it is way too high in this ranking it should be at most like 13th.
Kyle Field has no need for chairback seating on the student side, as the students stand for the entirety of the game (by tradition--as the "12th Man" to demonstrate their willingness to come out of the stands and play should the team need them).
I can’t wrap my head around why Bryant-Denny (then Denny) was built across the street from a cemetery? Or, was the adjacent cemetery planted across the street from the stadium? Either scenario doesn’t make sense.
I’ve visited 9/14. Sanford at #2 is a bit high and it’s my alma mater. Truly is built into the campus hills though. I graduated in the Grady building right next to it. My roommate dropped me off one day and was amazed to drive around the corner and see the stadium out of nowhere as she crossed the bridge.
No true Dawg would ever say that. Unlike all the other stadiums in the SEC, it's the only stadium where every single new renovation was built specifically to blend into the existing stadium so it doesn't look haphazard as all the other stadiums do. It's remained symmetrical, which is important. It's the most beautiful stadium in the conference, inside and out, and I say that knowing that the outside could use some bricking.
@@bretmarks What??? Sanford Stadium is small??? It's 93K seats, dumbass. And it doesn't have a great vibe??? You have no idea what you're talking about. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZMnPvy7E2GA.html
