The second Hooghly Bridge, also known as Vidyasagar Setu, is the first Cable Stay Bridge in India and being more than 25 years old now, needs Maintenance & Repair - Changing of a Few Cables and all the Bearings.
Implementing such a gigantic task with minimum traffic blockage is a huge endeavor that was undertaken by RITES Ltd on being hired by the HRBC Ltd.
This film provides the detail plan and process of how this marvelous activity shall be achieved. We have developed this film for our clients RITES Ltd who have used this film for Technical Documentation & Simulation to be used by the senior management of HRBC, RITES, Govt. of West Bengal, Railways and other stakeholders for decision making as well as to archive this state-of-the-art process for future referral of such complex work.
This Video is a property of our client RITES LTD and we are presenting it here to only showcase our ability to make such films for various Engineering and other Organizations.

A bridge that is "25 years old" is NOT "old". The Brooklyn Bridge is nearly 140 years old and the Golden Gate Bridge is 85 years old and are both in excellent condition and that is because both bridges are meticulously well maintained and thus are in such good condition after being 140 and 85 years old. If the Vidyasagar bridge is in terrible condition after ONLY 25 years then that is ENTIRELY on the persons who are responsible for the maintenance of the bridge and because the Vidyasagar bridge is falling apart after JUST 25 years, then that means maintenance of the bridge is garbage.

Howrah bridge is 80 years old cantilever bridge situated next to this bridge, its still standing bcz it is made under british government

Jubilee Bridge (1887) was well operational till 2002 (before a crack!) And that holds the record of the Oldest permanent bridge in Kolkata region on Hooghly river....![Actually it continued till 2016!] Newer one here is actually "Sampritee Setu"

This bridge was constructed during left front period in central there was Congress govt most probably 30 years back with in this period a major portion of bridge have been ruined up.some the engineer who constructed this bridge they may be still doing the job in some where. What was their experience that with in this short period how a bridge ruined up.
