I saw this when it came out and I was pretty young at the time. One of the most disturbing movies I've seen.

I saw Seconds on TV in the early 1970's, I was in my early 20's and I was greatly impressed and moved by the film. Even though I was young at the time, movies about middle aged crisis, such as Seconds and The Swimmer, had a profound affect on me. I can't understand why Seconds was disliked when it was first released.

This was truly a fascinating watch for me! What an amazing film! I was wondering how watching such a film might impact a young mind. I wondered if it could actually influence one’s belief systems about Life and navigating Human Relationships. I’m thankful I did not watch this as a young person, I’m thankful for my own Influences and the belief systems I was exposed to…Life is always going to be full of Challenges, but navigating through it with someone you love, and loves you in return is truly a Precious Gift.

It transcends that for some reason. It had a similar effect on me in my 20's too. Almost like a coming attraction of life.

The characters name is Hamilton at first. He becomes Tony Wilson. And its James Wong Howe, not Jimmy Wang.

I made the decision to refer to him as Mr. Wilson throughout the essay to make it easier for those that may have not seen the film before to avoid confusion between the two actors since I bounced around a lot. James was often referred to as Jimmy, and was in fact credited like that initially in his first few films, so I guess that stuck in my head.
