I think it makes sense to leave the old characters behind since their stories have reached a good ending. Especially with Carlos gone (RIP) bringing them back would just feel more empty than anything. Plus if they kept them it might make the film a little too packed trying to find something for all of them to do. Plus there are a bunch of Villains left whose kids still have stories to tell.

I really wish that the rest of the gang from the first three Descendants could be on here also. Cameron Boyce may have died, but his spirit still lives on, and he would not want the cast to quit. He would want them to keep moving on in the movies for Descendants.

If they ever make a desendance 5 they should have both the old characters and the new characters play in the movie for a rap up of the descendants franchise. That would be so cool. i really wanted descendants 4 to happen for a long long time. but... now that it is, it just doesn't feel right without Mal Evie Jay Ben and Carlos (rest in peace). Descendants is about the main four OG, if you get ride of them, than it honestly shouldn't be called Descendants 4, but should be called something else. There's nothing wrong with the movie and where it's set, it sounds great, I just don't think it's smart to name something after Descendants and not have very many of the OC.

I hope Descendants 4 is some sort of working title. This would work better as a spin-off as opposed to an actual sequel. Also, we didn't really need an explanation as to why the barrier was there. Villains were on the isle, that's all we needed to know. I'll still watch it, but my expectations are low. Not in hell, but low.
