Yes, I so underestimated my calorie intake until I started a food diary. Now I know a little packet of chocolate can have as much calorie as almost half a meal!! No wondering I dropped only 2kg despite 5-6 times of gym a week for years. It's mostly about the food we take! That pack of gummy bears is a meal itself.
I used to overestimate how much I ate. I thought I just had a high metabolism, nope just not eating enough hahaha. Now that I use a food app I have gone up a clothing size ;p
Most people underestimate what they eat. They don’t remember every mouthful, as we’ve seen in other shows (especially drink). And they underestimate portion size.
lorraine is actually the most believable of all the guests on this show, the look of horror in watching herself appears so honest. she's not making a mockery of it and taking it seriously. also she is like really pretty which is unrelated but oh well.
The chocolates on the couch were her wake-up. In her mind she was just watching tele, she had know idea was also shoveling in chocolates. I would wager she would pass a polygraph if was asked if she ate while tele. The hand to mouth is an auto response and doesn’t become memory (I.e. how many breaths you took reading this)
@@robertcurrey1929 I don't think the chocolate was her tipping point, much more so the insane quantity of alcohol consumed on a weeknight. Anna and the crew were very delicate about it, but that borders on functioning alcoholism.
Download myfitness pal or my plate,,try to write everything u eat. You would be surprised,,,I started losing weight after I found out how much I had been eating.
@Luc they are ask to keep a food diary during the program, that would me more aware. I never understand how that they are so wrong in their food trackers.
She was alone in the living room eating it lol If you pay attention to the language they use, “I even have a fruit bowl in the bedroom so I always that it is there” - aka “I never said I ate it” 🤣
people don’t have an accurate idea of how much calories there are in things untill they take a look at the nutritional info. my dad served himself a huge plate of lasagna and i asked him how much calories he thought there would be in it (he was in a diet due to high blood pressure) and he said “about 230”
She didn't realize she was drinking about 1000 calories a day, otherwise her guess would have been spot on. So many people don't realize how many calories they drink.
Think about it, the only reason you’d put fruit *in your bedroom* is because YOU ARENT EATING THE FRUIT, and need a visual reminder. She’s telling on herself
@@lenabeana9834 there is a difference between natural sugars.. you do know that right LOL you tryna tell me fruit is bad bc it has sugar omg dont make me laugh please go look it up
This is one of the sadest episodes so far. The mother is a borderline alcoholic, obviously making her perfectly aware daughter feel helpless and depressed. This is not merely binge eating and drinking, but actually a case for a family therapist. Never mind how cheerful they may seem, there is something very odd going on here.
Wow. So Lorraine has a drinking problem. The intense darkness around her eyes indicates her liver is in distress. I hope she and her daughter are doing better now.
I was only playing this in the background, but I tuned in an saw her eyes and immediately thought she must be an alcoholic. The glassy eyes, the look, the darkness around them, it's very obvious and sad. Looked in the comments and they confirmed it
Yeah the fact she bought and finished two litres of white cider AFTER going to the pub shocked me. Hope she's managed to taper herself down and get clear of the sauce. 🙏
I’m not going to argue that she drinks too much, because obviously she does , but dark under the eyes indicates, allergies, anemia, lack of sleep, hereditary
Lorraine, despite her overweight, unhealthy nutrition and dark under-eye circles, looks younger than 45. i thought she and her daughter are friends or sisters. In general, i fancy Lorraine, nice woman.
Lorraine is such an awesome person. She may be in denial, but she's strong enough to challenge it - that's difficult for people who are clearly in denial to do.
Lorraine seems like a lovely lady, I reckon shes good fun to be with. Cori looked so pretty with the red, pin-up style hair. I hope they've both been able to maintain their healthier lifestyles - I wish these programmes would do follow-ups.
Cori: my body wants to put on more weight than it wants to lose then eats FOUR HOTDOGS with *sour cream 4 buns and 6 pounds of cheese.* I Guess that’ll show that treacherous body who’s boss
I had an obese friend and she used to beg me to go out to dinner with her and her daughter. We went to buffets a few times. Made myself sick from so much food. Though in the days of coronavirus buffets don't happen.
"As soon as I go off my diet . . . " Yes, that's the thing about diets: They work while you're on them, and when you go back to you old eating habits, you go back to your old weight.
Diets are for people who need to lose weight for a limited time like a special occasion. Lifestyle changes are for people who want to lose weight permanently. Took me way to long to actually understand this -.-
It needs to be a change in mindset. Food can't become a hobby or the primary source of joy in one's life. Yes sure enjoy your food from time to time but it can't be like having culinary party in front of the TV everyday.
Corey and Lorraine are so, so lovely. I hope they read all the comments from all the people who are charmed by their characters and their relationship and wish them well
1,000 calories a day from alcohol is a sign of addiction. White lightening is the cheapest, strongest cider around. They only framed it in terms of calories and not alcohol as a drug. This lady needs to be referred to a drug and alcohol recovery service. Bless her. I hope she gets on top of it.
she seems to have emotional problems, the food is an addiction too. The tattoos are also a sign of poor mental health. The daughter is following suit with bad mental health
I just ate a giant log of Toblerone but I have NOOOOO idea why I’m gaining weight? It’s an effin’ mystery. 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ I just drank 30,000 calories in booze this month but fml WHY am I heavy?! Bless her heart.
Lorraine is my fave. She gets the most slack for drinking too much. But everyone else on this show binge it too. It's cause she's a single mom drinking by herself without an occasion. It's wrong, but i understand her. She's super kind and easy going and funny.
Yes out of all the people that have been on the show Lorraine has been my favourite person as well. She seems like a lot of fun and wants to change her habits.
Drinking heavily on your own definitely is underlying issues, but people forget the added huge calories that alcohol actually has 🍷🍺 😬😑. I myself drink rarely now .I think you enjoy it more when you save it for special occasions and one offs .
What beautiful women. I would never have guessed that the Mum was 55 years old! She looks 35 to me. Seriously. I wish them success and long, healthy lives.
Diane Taylor my daughter is 44yrs and looks more like Cori in age. Loraine is not an unattractive woman but you can see by the dark circles under her eyes and her lethargy that she is unhealthy.
People forget or don't know about this, but alcohol is really calorific. 1 beer = 250 kcal 2 beers = 1 Big Mac 8 beers = 2.000 kcal 2.000 kcal = As a woman, you're done. You spent your daily calorie intake. You can't eat anything today. Try tomorrow.
@@bvbbiersack4348 Yeah, like non-alcoholic beers... Alcohol is caloric, not the beer. If you take out the alcohol from the beer then it's pretty obvious that you can end up with a low caloric beer. It's like taking out the sugar from sodas.
Is pasta touted as a health food in the British food pyramid or something? In a lot of these episodes when they're listing off the "healthy" foods they eat, they say pasta dishes and that always throws me off.
i think its because pasta can be healthy but only when you have lots of healthy stuff with it. Pasta is the carbs that should come with lots of veggies. But people seem to think its the pasta, can't be bothered to eat or don't like veggies, plus pasta goes so well with high calorie extras like cheesey sauces, sooo yeh, maybe those reasons? Also, Vivi! :D
Have you seen the You Tube Pasta Grannies? It seems like half of them are in their 90s and in good shape so pasta can be part of a healthy diet. A big problem is portion size. What most people think is a single portion of pasta is actually enough for three. A lot of people just cook pasta and throw on jarred sauce because it's quick and easy. Pasta can be made with so much more than white flour. Embrace the noodle! But in sane quantities
yeah it could be genetic i'm pretty healthy and my sister is extremely active and healthy but we both have the worse eye bags ever. Like since we were kiddies , they're so dark its a curse tbh :(
Emjay H I have dark under eye circles from allergies (allergic shiners), still have them no matter how much sleep I get lol and I have a healthy diet. Could be caused by a bad diet for her but there’s many reasons
Its funny when the daughter said I'm very active but all she does is hangout with her friends lol. Not the same thing as a physical activity geared toward loosing weight like walking, a sport etc.
Tooeasy 122 you do realize thats way too little right? like if you want to lose weight in a non-disordered way 1200 should be a minimum (if you’re short). otherwise you’re just damaging your body
I can't believe the host just called her an 'actual human dustbin'. If that was said on American TV it would have like tense music and angry sound effects lol
when you are fatter your body burns more calories per day than a slimmer body (this is because it takes more physical effort to do everything). So she's technically not overeating by 1200-1400 calories a day because she is not a regular sized woman. Her average caloric intake for maintaining weight is going to be above the caloric intake for a healthy sized woman maintaining weight. They also didn't specify by how much/less calories that is to maintain the weight. They could simply have meant that it does cause weight gain, just not at the same rate she is.
@@sua4443 I did some calculations based on age, height and weight. The daughter needed to eat 2000 to 2400 calories to maintain and the mother 1900 to 2300 (activity level dependent).
Bless her, mum now needs measuring for a good support bra. Otherwise her next problem will be neck, shoulder and back problems. Yes, I do speak from experience.
Mum needs exercise, and so do you. I'm about that size and have a healthy, strong back and literally zero support related issues with or without bra. Exercise your back. For real. There is no reason a measly 2 kgs or so should affect you that much. They may look massive, but they're not as heavy as you think.
@@evanz2704 my friend is very physically fit but has huge breasts - enough that they are causing a curvature to her spine and the NHS are reducing them for free - aha sometimes it’s not as simple as lose weight although it can be a good start and working out your back - again good - but good supporting bras are sometimes a necessity
"What I normally eat made me gain two stone in a year, when I go on a diet that changes what I eat I lose weight, but when I stop the diet and eat the way I normally would I just gain weight again, I don't get it" 😂
Who the heck puts sour cream on a hot dog? I am glad she loves to cook, she makes such logical choices! I wish the best for both of these ladies, what they are living on now is junk.
Shame is such a destructive feeling. I feel like I've learned a lot about how some people think and feel by watching this show. I'm grateful these people have the courage to share their journey with us. We can't do anything by ourselves. We are a social species. But no matter how important it is to be liked by others, no matter how good it feels to get compliments, nothing beats living in harmony with your own values and feelings. Nothing feels better than doing the right thing because it's the right thing to do. 💚
I know this is an old comment, but: shame is sometimes a really important and useful response. For example, thieves should be ashamed. Abusers should be ashamed. Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater.
You can’t look at it as a diet. It has to be a lifestyle. I lost 185 pounds almost 18 years ago and through the years I’ve educated myself on nutrition. I did the elimination diet and it was so eye opening! I can’t imagine eating processed food again. I never feel deprived. If I can do it, I’m convinced that anyone can! ♥️💪🏼
Hopefully they talk about it off the camera. Her saying "what this looked like to my children" was heart breaking. Both her and her daughter looked broken.
The arrogance of these people, they’ll say “I’m eating *very well* and I’m doing everything right, but because Jebus hisself *cursed me* I’m now OBESE. Iss muh meTaBoliSM!
Aneeka I wonder if the production team tells them what to say. I know someone who’s going to be on a home makeover show and they told them to pretend to choose between two designs when they knew all along which they would be picking. The pattern in secret eaters is just so predictable that there must be some manipulation going on.
fresh food doesn't equal low calorie food. healthy food doesn't equal low carb food. nutritious food doesn't equal low fat food. you have to loo at all aspects of what makes food healthy, not just whether it is fresh made, or has a lot of produce. a salad can easily contain more calories that you are supposed to have in one day. society disillusions us to only look at one component of food, and to take either the surplus of deficit of that one component to the extreme in order to be "healthy" but our bodies will never agree with that method.
A lot of foreigners seem to be watching these so in case some of you are confused why people are talking about grass all the time during the reveals: a "grass" is British slang for a snitch. A grass "grasses you up", a.k.a snitches on you :)
@Burner Fire because there have been people confused and asking questions in the comments about similar phrases. They're not stupid, as the context often is obscured or not obvious- for example when people are laughing, covering their mouths and speaking in incomplete sentences like parts in this video. Sorry that you think they are.
I’m not overweight, but this show opens up my eyes how much people let go and eat unconciously. I only have my moments once a month during my period and my weakness are soft cheeses and crisps.
