Secret Hack for BMW 3-Series Rest Button Hidden Feature Pre LCI to LCI Swap Climate Control E90 E92

The rest button on pre LCI climate controls was useless for me so I swapped to LCI IHKA unit on my e92 M3 for convenience. This DIY install works for any BMW with the pre-LCI Rest button on their climate control knob. Heated seats still work along with air conditioning. I coded the unit using Bimmergeeks Protools as well. Thanks for watching my video!
The hidden feature is the ability to switch between ”All” or “Rest” functionality on LCI climate control unit.

Can the rest button on the original a/c control on PRE LCI to be coded to control both temperatures together without put new panel from LCI ? I really not use this rest button..

@@BETNCORT it uses the residual heat from the engine bay to keep the interior cabin warm when the car is off. Useful in cold winters.

it uses the residual heat from the engine bay to keep the interior cabin warm when the engine is off. Useful in cold winters.

@@musselicious correct, since you have LCI climate control, you can switch to either option via coding.
