There's a parallel story that runs with _Secret Invasion_ and overlaps its ending, called _Secret Warriors._ It's very good; parts of the plot were mined for ideas later used in the _Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D._ show.

@D Phalanx Read all that stuff. Was an absolute comic hoarder from 2007 to 2014. That era was great.

@@StateOfTheInitiative Ed Brubaker? Jonathan Hickman? Whichever writer it was...they were top of their form. _Secret Warriors_ may well be the best Nick Fury/S.H.I.E.L.D. stuff ever written (surpassing even the Steranko-60s stuff--which was _boss!_ ).

I dunno, i think the only trailer that lied about the tone of its movie was "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania".... Multiverse of Madness, Love & Thunder, Wakanda Forever, She-Hulk, etc. all promoted tones consistent with what their actual products. I think people just want something more serious right now, which is what this (and also Wakanda Forever) is promising.;

@@thedefinitionisthis Maybe it's not really about tone as much as expectations then: The trailers for Multiverse of Madness created an expectation that many universes were going to appear and there were really only like 2 or 3 in the movie. The trailers for Moon Knight implied the show was going to focus on the idea of Steven not knowing what was happening in his life while Mark did the fighting, but the show dropped that thread after episode 2. The trailers for She-Hulk teased Daredevil before the show had started when he wouldn't show up until the last 2 episodes, and also implied that she was going to be getting involved in some major events, but the series ended up mostly self-contained with a finale that was mostly a satirical commentary on the "MCU formula" instead of a serious ending to the series' plot line. It's not that these shows and films didn't each have their own merit, but they were all marketed in ways that exaggerated the prevalence of their most interesting feature to a point where people felt let-down when that feature turned out to only be a small part of the actual experience.
