Secret levels and cheat codes in Sonic 2

There are more codes than just debug mode...
Here’s a list of them:
-Proto Palace zone: 03, 03, 03, 0B, 10, 10, 10, 04 (then select Hidden Palace)
-Secret special stage: 07 then press Special Stage
-infinite retries: 01, 09, 09, 01, 02, 01, 01, 02, 04
-All Chaos emeralds: 04, 01, 02, 06
-Change Tails’ name to Miles: tap the words A, G, E, S when the SEGA logo appears

It is the same as the one in the September prototype. This video is of the remake though, not of the Mega Drive version.

Tip: in this version of Sonic 2, be in sonic and tails mode, look up and double jump for tails to airlift sonic Edit: Airlifting Sonic underwater causes Tails to fall

Music 07 gets level 8 halfpipe. Music 0 gets level 1, and so so force up to the hidden 8th secret stage. Keep playing over and over all the stages for practice

Do you play on an emulator, or on the Mega Drive? Either way, you can do more things with the Mega Drive version. You can access the remains of Hidden Palace with a Game Genie, or Pro Action Replay (PAR) Just reply back if you want to hear more.

Trance The Hedgehog that what I meant... To the debug code AND the code to unlock Proto palace, then you should hear a ring sound, then select Hidden Palace Zone. Now once in Proto Palace Zone, you can explore the level with greatest of eze

Even doing the Debug my code then doing Proto palace it still doesn’t work you have to get a non-updated version of the game because I can’t get it and to work on my iPhone or my Android yeah I can run an older version on an iPod and it works just fine for Proto palace

Chris J if you have iOS or android, go to no save and when the SEGA logo appears, tap the letters in this order. S-E-G-A, then when you hear a ring sound hold the screen with two fingers (or both thumbs) then you’ll be taken to the stage select and the sound test.

Chris J hmmm... did you tap each letter on the SEGA logo in order? When you tap all four letters in order you should hear a ring sound.
