After the previous one from Riffclown, I would not have expected anything this easy. It offered pleasant resistance without becoming a slog, and with no need for hard-to-remember and harder-to-spot advanced techniques (58 = row 5 column 8): 58, 96, 71, 41, 43, 85 (UR, boxes 4 and 5), 86, 93, 13, 89, 99, 79, 78, 72, 38, 11, 17, 19, 15, 32, 31, 92, 21, 22, 39, 35, 66, 47, 45, 67, 68, 57, 69, 28, 29, 97, 84, 94, 81, 22, 91, 88, 98, 65, 55, 63, 53, 64, 56, 54, 26, 24, 61, 62. I suppose a UR could be considered an advanced technique, so here's my second path, without one: 38 instead of 85, 11, 62, 61, 93, 13, 17, 19, 15, 39, 68, 35, 24, 26, 54, 98, 89, 99, 79, 82, 88, 78, 97, 72, 69, 28, 29, 56, 84, 47, 45, 67, 57, 32, 31, 92, 85, 64, 53, 63, 55, 86, 65, 66, 94, 81, 91, 22, 21.

Nice job Julian. I like how Riffclown can make easy and hard puzzles equally enjoyable.

Okay, I'll give it a shot and try to keep in mind, no marks. (Keeping something in mind is *very* difficult for me, the way my mind does what it wants to do.) (Over 25 minutes later.) Okay, I did it. I went nice and slow, but I did it. 2:00 I view coloring as marking. I'm not sure if using colors or letters as labels -- blue or A = 1 or 2, yellow or B = the other of 1 and 2 -- qualifies as notation. 5:40 Working memory? I have serious short-term memory issues, maybe with connections and access rather than storage. My working memory may be fine, once I get past the short term.

Letter notation basically works the same as coloring if using pencil and paper. Working memory was something I picked up from a class on human factors.

I have great respect for Harold Nolte, but his method drives me insane, and I really think there's a limit to how difficult a puzzle you can solve like this.

What method do you prefer? Filling in as you go or starting with all candidates filled out, or something else?

@@SmartHobbies Depends on whether it's electronic or paper. For paper, I like to mark as many conjugate pairs and bi-value cells as I can, then try to build chains from there (or look for things like two-string kites, turbot fish, etc). For electronic ones, I like to start with a full candidate list. The app on my phone has one, but you have to go through a torrent of ads to get to it, so I usually fill them in manually. By the way, I'm curious what you think of my notation system? I call it Roman notation (because of the Roman numerals given to the blocks), and I've been really angling for some feedback on it. Peace✌

@@fubaralakbar6800 I am okay with it. I have also seen letter and number notation.
