Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This RU-vid channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

Feel probably played a part in that perception. Or the preconceived notion that it's higher compression already made his mind up no matter the difference. That said, to me it did sound higher pitched and clickier.

I play these, at first they do feel hard, but they perform so well. Such a great ball in the wind, no ballooning. I feel like they don't side spin as much. They stop on the green, but usually finish forward slightly, which I prefer, instead of spinning backwards and off of greens.
@jayscott1380
@jayscott1380 3 года назад
Basically if you're a high spin, high traj player, try these. The "feel" has nothing to do with performance, even short game, tight pin situations, it's just a great ball if you have certain ball flight characteristics.

Thanks Rick. I just revisited this video as I started playing the left Dash, switching from ProV1x. Your review is spot on with my own experience. I’m maybe 6-8 yards further off the tee. I haven’t noticed much of a difference in my iron play. The slightly harder feel around the green doesn’t bother me. At my club we use much harder range balls when we practice our short game. Putting is a little harder to get used to but statistically my putting is unchanged (equally bad) after using left dash for about 20 rounds. You’re such a great resource for these things. Much appreciated !

I’ve been using these since they came out and haven’t changed balls since. Crazy long off the tee and still spins tons around the greens. Some might not like how firm they are but I love the clicky sound around the greens.

and then the one a couple shots after that was the same distance away but he was absolutely giddy with. It was a better line though and it probably looked closer from the tee box. I always despise those balls that look like they are 3 feet from the hole and then you walk up to the green and have a 12 foot putt

I know everyone loves Titleist and all, but I think Vice is probably the best bang for thr buck right now. I bought a box of Vice Tours after a buddy threw me one he found on the course. I'm pleasantly surprised around the green and putting. I also was outdriving everyone in my 4sum. At $23.99 a dozen its a great ball.

Switched to these about a month ago from 2020 ProV1..i spin the ball too much and these have added about 15 yards on average to my drives, with many more in the fairway..if i get a hold of one im getting it out there 320 where previously it would go around 290..feel off full wedges isnt great but if you need more distance and are a mid to low handicap..these are a great option

Rick you behind!!!! Thought you were gonna talk about the pro v1 left dot. Those are the one that are hard to find. Never had an issue finding the left dash. The left dash have been out for purchase for 2 years. Maybe in the uk it’s been an issue to find. It’s the my favorite ball to play now. Yea they are firmer but if you are a high spin player looking to lower the spin with a premium ball it’s great.

I like the review and the data is interesting. However with the rarity of the balls and the cost, which is probably on par with the typical ProV1, I doubt anyone outside a Titleist contracted tour player will use these regularly. A quick Google search found the price point at $49.99 to $59.99 a dozen. I can play an 18 hole round and with lost balls, it wouldn't cost me as much as a dozen of the left dash balls. Great video as always Rick and thank you!

PGA Superstore stocks them. Got fit into this ball and gained almost 7 yards carry with the driver with smaller dispersion. Helps with my irons a ton too since I sometimes get a little flippy and spiny. Definitely a very hard ball but it’s not clicky whatsoever

Great test Rick! I was intrigued about this ball and was interested in testing but after this, I think I’ll stick to my Pro V1. I can’t see how sacrificing that feel around the greens for an extra 5 yards or so of carry would help me lower my scores in the end.

If you get around to it, you should test the top flite Bombs! They may not be as fancy as the -Pro V1x but psychologically they feel like they're going to go incredibly far. Top Flite have ignored all of those gimmicks like control and feel and spin to make a ball that feels longer than even the old top flites

Funny enough I actually use these currently, though may switch off once I run out. Got them from the Titleist rep that came into the shop I work and and gave me a box. They feel about the same as the pro v1x, which is definitely more of a firmer feel than the pro v1. Otherwise everything you tested was the same that happened to me. Will probably go back to the pro v1x though just because they're easier to get though

Horton Smith, the first Masters champion, designed the first 9 holes of our local golf course in 1929. Rumor has it that he hit a Driver and a 2 wood to a spot where he placed the 1st green. That hole measures 400 yards!!!!! Do we really need balls that fly farther? Some would argue no. The modern ball has rendered these old classic courses obsolete, and make the modern courses expensive to maintain. USGA/R&A should have stepped in when the first Pro V1 was made.
