We really gotta thank Trueblade Seeker for discovering that item canceling technique. He basically discovered a way to make KH3 a lot more fun than before.
Its funny that with the amount of combo tech that Trueblade Seeker was showing off in his videos back in the day other channels with a lot of KH content were still insisting KH3 had no cool tech in it whatsoever.
People often say KH2 has a deeper combat system, but I often think they don't play KH3 as much as KH2 and just spam the attack button to win. KH3 has tons of combat options that helps through bosses.
Exactly. It's why KH3 is so underrated. Those kh2 stans would never understand how the combat works because they want KH3's combat to be like kh2fm 2.0
@Redxan600 And all the mechanics in this game are part of vanilla KH3, before the updates and DLC. KH2 needed Final Mix for most of its cool mechanics and content to make it as memorable as it is. No hate to KH2, but I'm just saying KH3 is underrated cause people don't experiment and say the game is bland or everything is too broken.
The item cancelling + keyblade switch tech was talked about/featured in the kh3 ultimania in 2019, before REMIND released, but trueblade did let the larger community know about it. That ultimania is only in Japanese and most people didn’t read it, but just wanted to clarify.

Another niche tech that isn't really talked about is what I like to call "RV reset". Only the finishers for Drill Punch and Twin YoYos have this effect. Grabbing a boss with any of these two finishers "which I dub Command Grabs" just resets their RV for another set of combos so you can perform another set of combo strings if pulled off. I never saw people combine this with magic galvanizer but you could probably imagine the results against Yozora
I remember in the first year or so after the game came out how many people (especially both Bizkits) were super adamant that there was no tech to be found whatsoever in KH3. As it turns out, they just needed to give the fans time to learn things, since even in KH2 it took several years for all the tech people love using nowadays to be discovered. When the game first came out, the main thing I was "in the trenches" about so to speak was people claiming that guard would randomly bug out. Turns out people were trying to guard moves where its possible but not the intended counterplay, and doing so poorly.
I forgot the names of the skills, but I used one that reduced the cost of magic for each consecutive cast. So, I would start casting Fire, which is the cheapest, a few times, then switch to the -ga spells. Thanks to the length of the combo, I was able to cast magic continuously with the cost of only 1 MP. Combine it with the keyblades that transform into guns, and you have the means to unleash the apocalypse upon the bosses. Your frame rates will hate you though. I played at the Critical difficulty.
A better use of lower tier magic is with the right equipment that gives you access to -Za Level Spells immediately. So you can cast Fire and still get Firaza while having the Fire cufflink on. But without it you only get Fira.
I think they should make the Aoe Magic a seperate “form” in the next game. Like when you learn any magic, you learn both the normal version and the spiral version, so you can equip either in the shortcut menu. Also, KH3 is my favourite title.
I mean it better be, we only had to wait like a decade or so for it. Had been waiting on that since 2005. 4th grade. I'm now 28. Had this game not been the success that it is, people would have probably gotten hurt tbh
Another cool thing to note about magic galvanizer is that it affects Magic Flash, Last Charge, Most double form finishers, and basically any attack that is considered magic damage.
Wouldn't this mean that Magic Flash and Last Charge will be getting boosted at a rate of +30% damage per hit with two Combo Boosts/Air Combo Boosts and one Magic Galvanizer equipped?
@@boyishdude1234 Actually no, combo boost/air combo boost only affect attacks flagged as strength based damage. The reason it can appear otherwise is that the game tracks the combo count independently and seemlessly applies it to combo boost, air combo boost or magic galvanizer based on sora's position and the nature of the current attack. This is why grand magic immediately after a physical combo can be so absurdly powerful.
the fact we have all tiers of magic by the end is pretty amazing, one of the rpg elements i love that kh3 add it, i hpe they have it in kh4 also, its pretty good for building situation commands, and also costs way less mp
Forgot to say earlier, but a really cool tech I’ve seen other people do is “Waterstepping.” Essentially combining Water’s cast animation’s i-frames with Airstep to be completely invincible during the dash. The most memorable usage I know is against Yozora’s HP Grab, you can instantly knock him out of the attack using this tech.

Stuff like animation cancelling keyblade switching should've been in the base moveset; it's not like this game is the definition of balance so why not. I thought that'd be the point of having 3 keyblades equipped but no it's really clunky to perform otherwise.
The fact that a fast keyblade switch jas to be artificially created instead of being there since the beginning speaks for how lazy kh3 developers where

@@Redxan600 even if it is is just stupid. Why the hell didn't they reduce the lag for keyblade switch to begin with? Why there is not a single explanation about that in the game? Because it was never planned, they found out and then said it was intentional. If not they are straight out retarded
I'm sorry, what did you want them to do? Honestly just having the ability to switch between keyblades during fights is a huge favor that they probably were pretty divided about even putting in the game. People get pissed because they think the switch mechanic is broken but the real issue is they don't know how to time it. Obviously there are times where whatever sora is doing isn't supportive of you trying to switch keyblades. So figure out when that is and quit trying when you know it's not going to work lol
How? It's pretty hard to build up all the grand magic spells while making sure the situation commands for them don't run out. Especially on bosses. And item canceling is simple once you get the hang of it, but using it strategically helps you throughout the game. When I started using it, it made fights so much more fun.
Not to burst too many people's bubbles as I think Item Cancelling is cool and very useful in certain situations, but I do believe that it's a bug. The reason for this is because if you play the game on launch patch (v1.00) it isn't possible to perform the Item Cancel technique. I can't say for certain what patch this bug was introduced in, but I'm pretty confident that it's a bug and not a mechanic that the developers intentionally added to the game.
