0:48 The reason why this happens is MIGHT be because the Hitbox itself is a square that faces wherever you face Squares have corners, if you adjust your character so that that CORNER has the furtherest reach, you'd get a slight range advantage
Some good tips from me too :D : use b(opening emote section) when u try to do side dash+front dash combo. 2)use front dash while aiming to your enemy if u want to dash instantly. 3)learn m1 trading :)

This was actually so helpful. I managed to win against an infinitely more skilled player than me using a character i barely even use which is Garou. Everytime these people know how to side dash i feel like my entire defense is non-existent and i just keep losing. Once i used the blocking method, i could just m1 and the m1 extend and easily land a Whirlwind to Flowing each time. Good stuff bro 👍

The first trick is due to the m1s creating a square hitbox infront of your char, my brain doesn’t have enough wrinkles for me to be able to explain it in a way that makes sense but basically it’s like you have on oval facing a wall, the furthest sides at the left and right of the middle of the oval. If you take the oval and rotate it to the left or right, the furthest sides are closer to the wall… or in this case your m1 hitbox is closer to the other player. If the devs were to fix this, they should change it to more of a circle placed a little bit into your body, that way (for the most part) no matter which angle you face you don’t get extra reach
