Hey everyone! I actually had a lot of trouble while working on this vid. I apologise for any audio issues you might face. I did the best I could, but I ran into some equipment issues I couldn't completely solve 🤧. It shouldn't be too noticeable anymore... But I do hope it doesn't bother you too much 😓. I hope you all still enjoy this video! P.S: For all the Digimon World 2 fans, there's some "Party Time" at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="1165">19:25</a>! ... Enjoy? 😅
I forgot to ask, did you have any cheat code enabled when the game crashed? Maybe you overwrote some of the evolution code with that, it did look like a Vademon evolution, the other posibility would be any of the other possible targets (I'm excluding Vegiemon)... but none them have conditions that can be fullfilled.
Something I'd have pointed out too that made some of this theories believable is that Digimon World already had some pretty "schoolyard rumour" alternative Digivolution methods. Like Vegiemon digivolving into Ninjamon if it wins 100 battles or Mamemon and Greymon upgrading into Metalmamemon and Metalgreymon by talking with the random stationary Guardromon in Factorial Town.
DW1 special evolutions are wild, who would think about scolding your digimon at exactly 200hs from turning into a champion?. I dont't know what the devs were thinking. The Vegiemon and Mamemon weren't that far from reality.
The fact that theres a genuine mechanic where you need to torture babies to get and that theres a bug letting you keep a digimon as baby so you can torture it as much as you want is some goofy playground shit that sounds fake until you learned that its real
Also, regarding WGarurumon, you can actually get it through game codes, but the model is empty and you can only hear footsteps,no other interactions at all. And the reason for this is...its model was not implemented, instead its .mmd files is Hiro (The MC) model replicated,so the game doesn't want to load it. Also,WG has an ingame mini completed portraits (like the ones in the tournament). The are stored in .TIM files IIRC. The royal tournament is accessible via glitching the game (i don't remember exactly how, maybe glitching the curling game),but it gives only a piece of Meat, and ranks down your tamer level. Also, the hidden areas have been implemented in DMW modded games (Vice hack). Another interesting thing, there are earlier demos of DMW1,one being SLPM-80402 and it's a Comic Bom Bom disc, only released in Japan with a magazine iirc. It had Panjyamon in the screen title, and the game ends at Day 6. It also has a bonus:if you press certain buttons, you get the Noble Mane in the inventory. If you finish it before that day,the game freezes and doesn't trigger the ending. The second one,SLPM-80401 has the same features as the first one,but it lacks the Panjyamon in the title, and maybe the bonus button prompts too. Also,if you use WayBack Machine,on Bandai site there are several screenshots of early betas. It shows a different command battle menu, and Hiro was intended to have red hair, lacking its cap. There is surely something else i'm forgetting, but,if you wanna know something else, there is a whole Discord server related to the game debugging. Nice video tho! Keep it up,this game deserves more attention! :)
ALSO,forgot to mention. There is another hidden item, only obtainable with GS,called AS Decoder but was scrapped in the end. Doesn't do anything, probably early in the game should have been used to translate the Leomon Table, but was later scrapped. Neat! xD
It's just in character for Etemon to call himself "King of Digimon". Especially considering it's in katakana, so it's essentially in "Engrish", and Etemon speaks in "Engrish" a lot as a show-off.
Suddenly out of nowhere last week, I suddenly wanted to play this game again. and now, here I am with a video talking about it. I would love to see an HD remake of this game like the HD remake of Halo 1 and 2.
I remember hearing sometime ago about how you can get the MetalBanana without cheating by buying something like 50 Golden Bananas, which would require an absurd amount of bits, and then etemon will just give you one for free. It sounds absurd but my inner child wants to humor the idea and use the infinite chainsaw glitch, but I don't know if it would be worth the trouble for something that is likely just a playground rumor
The text about MetalEtemon in the Japanese guidebook mentioning his new techniques and whatnot is all in his lore, as is him being referred to as "King of Digimon". Etemon was always a very prideful and rather arrogant Digimon, especially in the original Digimon Adventure anime series, where he battled the Chosen Children (or Digidestined for those who prefer the English terminology) and was eventually defeated when Tai used his crest of courage to digivolve Greymon into MetalGreymon for the first time. After Etemon's defeat, he clung onto his hatred for them and vowed to get his revenge, ultimately culminating in him being reincarnated and digivolving into MetalEtemon in the process. After this, he returned to face the Chosen Children again while they were fighting the Dark Masters (specifically Puppetmon, who MetalEtemon briefly fought), only to be killed again after Zudomon damaged the armor on his chest with his hammer, allowing SaberLeomon to finish him off for good this time. I mention all this because in tge anime, Etemon boastfully called himself a king, believing himself to be superior because of his strength. On a side note, I have heard that it is possible to get WereGarurumon using the moon mirror, but from what I heard, it only seems to be usable on Garurumon (which is weird, because digivolution items normally work on any Digimon of the appropriate level), and even then, only at a specific hour at night -- I don't know what the exact details of how this works are, so if anyone has more information on this, feel free to fill in whatever I got wrong. What I DO know about WereGarurumon and his existence in this game, however, is that if you ARE able to successfully digivolve your Digimon into him, he only can use one technique (that being fire tower, yay), but otherwise he is invisible, cannot be interacted with, and he tends to crash your game if you do certain things with him. In my opinion, you really aren't missing out on much if you can't obtain him, and going through the effort to do so doesn't seem to be worth it
WereGarurumon is just impossible to get at all: - The Moon Mirror will not work on any digimon, WereGarurumon has a level of 0 and the evolution items only work if the digimon is one level behind, so the only way to make it work would be to have a digimon with the level -1 (which is impossible). To add to this, the levels are: 1 (baby), 2 (in-training), 3 (rookie), 4 (champion), 5 (ultimate). You can try this cheat code, which should change Weregarurumon level to the right one: 8012DB68 0502, but that would go then to the second part... - Even if the level was right, the game will try to load a model that does not exist, so it ends up crashing, the people that made the videos probably made the game skip the model loading part (which is why it does not have a model in those videos). - No model means no animations to play, so when the game has to wait for the digimon to play an animation... It will wait for something that never happens...
I just want to say how much I loved this video. Digimon World 1 is my favourite game. I had no idea about these hidden Digimon. Leomon is my favourite and I'd be so annoyed if I got Ice Leomon to then digivolved into Veggiemon! Keep up the great work!
The Japanese version of digimon world 1 have a technique you can use when you start a new game to access many evolution items which includes the evolution item for those 3 secret digimon.
Now, I already knew of MetalEtemon being in the game, but I didn't know about Panjyamon or Gigadramon! At one point, with how much I'd played this game and how long it'd been since I last Digimon Adventure, I thought I'd misremembered Gigadramon, that I was going crazy! And the Megas I know of in this game are: Jijimon, HerculesKabuterimon, Phoenixmon, MetalEtemon and the final boss Machinedramon! They also kept how to get Phoenixmon and MegaSeadramon a secret in the guide I still have, leaving you alone to figure out Giromon completely, no Chart like with the others, unlike with HerculesKabuterimon, Phoenixmon and MegaSeadramon, so I'm not sure why kept their stats so tightly under wraps! Also, people don't realise this, but Mew actually SAVED Pokémon from flopping!
My man delivers again! But holy crap Digimon World 1?! Never would I have imagined that this game would have so much cut content! But the Metal Etemon giveaway... God that's just sad... Wonder what the winners of them back then did with the memory cards? Hope they kept them at least! Playground rumors huh? We had one going around that Omegamon himself was in the game! But alas no dice... Got a MetalGreymon out of that rumor thou so yeah it's all good!
You had me at unused content and glitches The whole MetalEtemon affair though is a reminder that games back then locked you out of content, out of reach aside from limited time events that only a select few would ever attend. The only real way to get them was to buy a cheat device to obtain them
Using an item you had to get mailed to you, and then your digimon turns into an egg and the item is gone forever, sounds like the worst prize imo. Unless the memory card was custom
A funny thing about the Metal Etemon is that with the flow of the game to evolve, restart and re evolve again your digimon getting a digimon from an item sucks lol
There's one thing you missed about WereGarurumon. Not only was the Moon Mirror in the game, there was also a 16x16 sprite that was in the game's code for WereGarurumon. It does not use the sprite from the Pendulum, but a slightly modified Leomon sprite.
Hey Digimonprofessor! Like I mentioned in the video, I want to dig a little deeper with the Missing Digimon stuff, so I figured I'd cover it in a different video. But yes, you are right. There are some remnants of weregarurumon data in there, for sure!
Actually it's the second, Digital Monster ver S Digimon Tamers for the Sega Saturn predates World 1, but Digimon World 1 actually released outside of Japan so people actually played it.
I love old video game rumors cause of how wild some of the stuff they ask you to do but older games especially RPGs they might be believable cause of some of the stuff you would have to do in game to get cool or secret items.
that unused 'mt.spore' area you mentioned looks like its either using an incorrect palette or, more likely going by the appearance, using junk or other non-palette data as a palette
From what i heard Weregaruru was planned to debut in this game, but was cut so it can debut in Adventure anime The King of Digimon bit in Metalete likely refers to Ete. So its like Metal Ete is the evo of the king(Ete) kind of thing. I believe Ete claimed to be King of Digimon in one digimon media. Might be adventure anime since it doesnt seem unfamiliar to me
Have you tried Next order? That's almost a modern version of this game, kind of 😅. I didn't like it all that much myself. Felt like it lacked the charm and soul of World 1.
There was also the Bon Bon premium disc, a demo disc that came with the Bon Bon magazine. It's crazy that Japan got like 3 different version of the game: a demo, the first release and the last release fixing some bugs. (there is another demo disc but I think it's pretty much the same as the first release)
I had one of those cheat discs that would come packaged with old game magazines back in the day, and it gave 99 Metalbananas to your DW save file. Makes me wonder if the same publication added the other items in later discs.
<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="37">0:37</a> Not sure. Have you tried on Next 0rder? :v The "King of Digimon" thing is just that in lore, Etemon calls himself that, it's pretty much on his reference book profile. They sneak that reference in almost every thing he is in. Thunderballmon was theorized to be Kaminarimon by some people, but Kaminarimon was actually a Digimon created by a fan that became official via contest. They used to do these quite often back in the day and that image you got is apparently from the V-jump from January 1999. Unfortunately Kaminarimon never got an official art and was never used on anything. Quite a few of these contest Digimon turned out like this.
Thank you for the insightful comment! :D The thing about other fan-made contest Digimon is quite intriguing! I'll have to take a better look into that!
@@CrystalPapa Wikimon has a list with all contests we know about. The name of the page is "List of Digimon Design Contests". Kaminarimon isn't listed in that page yet, we know for a fact that issue of the V-jump had a Digimon World section, but we never got a scan or even picture of the full pages. we only found out about that picture because a japanese user posted a picture on Twitter.
I remember being so annoyed when the circle, triangle, square cheat during the load up of the game didn't work on the PAL version of Digimon World. I really wanted Gigadramon, at least the PAL version wasn't as glitchy as the American version, but still.
Man I miss this game. Would wish for a remaster or remake, but given how a lot of times things get removed or edit, it's best for it to never get one. Regarding the Thunderballmon situation. For the longest part I believe it, but a few months back I remember doing some research, and it seems impossible since the time the game came out, and he was introduced were different. Plus I can't remember if Thunderballmon was made from a fan who won a make a Digimon competition. 🤔 Still can't wait for the next video. 😁
Did you know metaletemon in digimon world 1 is the only monster that has a quad damage attack type on it. Hand to hand does 4x damage even tho platnium nunemon is the same types but dont have a glitch in thete coding like he does
@@CrystalPapa I loved it! i never played the digimon games and i never new they were so complex. i still cant believe that megas didn't exist when this game was developed
I think, it isnt miracle that this game run. they have already check on all important things when I was a child I played this game a lot, and never find any bug if we make many people play this game at once, not many of them will find any bug, even there is a chance that none of them will find a bug. it is not like they each will find 10 or more bugs and getting the same bug repeatedly
i bought that game used WAY later after it was released (was not interested in Digimon back then when it released). The PAL version can't be completed 100 % because of a Bug (you can't get into Ogremons Lair) and the German game has two additional "quirks". 1) the box only shows the Partner Digimon from Digimon Adventure (that was the box art from PAL regions) but on the back they wrote about "more than 150 Monsters to collect and trade" *cough* basically ripped froM Pokemo and b) i don't know HOW this happend but they translated every "again" (i think) with BONUS (and not with the german word "wieder"). The game is weird. the official guide book had wrong informations and without the internet (and a fan site which was an efford from several years of japanese players which details the evolution requirements) i would never got ANY other digimon than Tyrannomon or... Sukamon / Numemon
Those 3 secret digivolve items actually CAN be obtained in-game with no cheat codes required, thanks to a glitch exploited by geta92. I never new that panjyamon can naturally digivolve tho 🤣
yeah cyber sleugh and hacker mind is way better than DW1 all the way, just like DW2 was better than DW1. I hate DW1 poop eater game. For me its not a digimon game.
