How high off the bottom is the bait gonna be if your leader is 100 ft long?

Watched this twice, good information. Also watched the GPS video, awsome. What rod and reel would you suggest for fishing mutton and Mahi? I can't afford a rod/reel for every species. Could you do a video on rods and reels combos to cover trolling and bottom fishing?
