Kwame Nkrumah never hated Ashantes or any tribe in Ghana.He created more schools and factories in Ashante region than any other region apart from Tema. His friend was Nana Prempeh and he suggested to Asantehene Nana Prempeh to give him a vast land to build a University of Science and Technology in the interest of the Asanteman and Ghana as a whole which he actually executed. In his native Nzima land he didn’t even do such. He built more Schools in Ashante region Bcos of the level of illiteracy in the Ashante region almost 70% could not read or write or speak English. Thanks to Kwame Nkrumah today Ashantes are one of the most educated people in Ghana when it comes to education but they’re simply ungrateful in all terms no government can please the Ashantes bcos they feel that they’re more superior and supreme than any other tribe in Ghana. U will not understand why Kumasi can’t develop.Challenge them they will lash u with insults bcos they hate to be put right or face the truth.By so saying they’re very hardworking and industrious.God bless Asanteman God bless Ghana

The initial amount was less than £500,000 during those days. The Univ. of Ghana was started with about £570,000 If you ever read a book with the title ‘A Visual History of Ghana’ you’d know who built the University in Kumasi.

Correctioñ; the first airport in Ghana was not the present kotoka Airport. The first Airport in Ghana was the Komenda Airport, in the Central Region; when Cape Coast was the capital City of Ghana. Did you do any research at all?

I agree. The airport name either needs to be restored to Accra International Airport to pacify the Ga people since that is their land or be named after Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Since, he was the founder of Ghana. I prefer naming it after Nkrumah.

Minor mistakes, Afrifa was not a Brigadier but a Major during the coup. Arthur was not a Fante but an Nzemah. The Soldier from Juaben was Lt. Osei Poku not Osei Wusu.

So do you think John Mahama is a kind of person better off to make Ghana a better place? Apuutoo. In fact I question the integrity of those who are supporting Mahama to be president. NDC has made a big mistake of picking John Mahama as a presidential candidate. Every Ghanaian from 20 years going knows that John Mahama has left nothing in his sleeves to offer Ghanaians. If elected to power, he's coming to give the last straw that will break the camel's back to Ghanaians. Kwabena Dufuor would have been a better choice, although he also would not win yet he will have gotten more votes than Mahama will get.

Don't get it twisted. The coup plotters Gen Ankrah was not officially involved. It was because of his military experience Gen Kotoka,Gen Afrifa, Gen Otto and Police officers in persons of Deku.Harley,Nunuu etc were NLC members. 3rd lieutenant Osei Poku not Osei Owusu.

Kwame Nkrumah borrowed the "divide and rule" tactics of the British. At time of independence, Ghana was formed from Gold Coast states, Ashanti, Northern territory and Western Togoland. He created a bono kyenpim within Asante, which divided Asante into Ashanti and Bono/Ahafo.

There was no evidence that Kotoka’s private part was cut off.The fact of the matter is Kotoka struggled with Lt Moses Yeboah in an attempt to take his gun from him,but Lt Moses Yeboah overpowered him and shot him 10 times.These were the newspaper reports in April 1967.Lt S.B. Arthur was then at the Broadcasting house making the announcement about the coup.Lt Yeboah’s assignment was to arrest Kotoka.Please, check the report.Thank you !

My elder brother was one of the soldiers who accompanied Lt Moses Yeboah to arrest Kotoka, and Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times also confirmed that Kotoka received 10 bullets when he attempted to take the gun from Lt Yeboah,.I hope you are not one of those ignorant and narrow-minded young Ghanaians who don’t want to learn but always making senseless arguments.

My brother there is Evidence that Kotoka was Brutally Murdered by Arthur and Yeboah. I remember that morning I and my friends were going to the Airport to Pick Plastic and Stainless Spoons, Steel Fork, Knives and Spoons from the Rubbish Dumps of the foreign Aeroplanes that come to Ghana. Our route use is from Nima through Kawo Kudi in those days it was called Spoilers Park because it belonged to a Foot Team of the Maamobi Manche's house through to CSR through the Bungalows to International Students Hostel then appear at the Airport Roundabout. So when we got to the Airport Roundabout, we were stopped by a Police Barrier of the Airport Police Baracks. We hanged around until we met some of the Bola Men from Nima working at the Airport They gave us a vivid account of what they saw in a Dustbin behind the Hanger and Mechanical Garage of the Airport. According to them, when they opened the Dustbin to offload the Rubbish, they saw a Dead body brutally Bruised Squeezed into the Bin and alerted the authorities They also comfirmed that his Private Part was cut and stucked into his Mouth. So my brother this is an Eye Witness Account and not what you read in the Daily News Papers because no journalist was prepared to describe such cruelty in their News Papers to attract the Anger of the Military since it was a failed Coup de tat

The gist of the presentation was how the name Kotoka International Airport came into been. Now let's ask ourselves if that name is of relevance today to Ghana and Pan Africanist. Now my State, Virginia in USA has found it befitting to remove all names of military connotations from their schools, highways, edifices and etc,such as Lee Jackson, Garfield etc. They all fought in the Civil War for Independence. What did Kotoka do for Ghana to merit such a national asset. Then name Nima Police Station after General Odartey Wellington; just because he was not from that tribe.

It was a diamond smuggling exercise as a ruse by Lt SB Atthur from the Ho mortar regiment with 120 soldiers Arthur killed capts Borkloe and Avevor and sgt osei Grunshie Yeboah knifed kotoka. Kotota was badly injured in the struggle and asked to be taken to hospital however,kotoka enroute he tried to seize Yeboahs.gun Then he knifed kotoka.
