Some clarifications and new stuff you guys commented: Meli was arguably lying to get the locket, many have pointed this out and tbh that may be true, so Minthara fans can eat good. There is infact another Katana available which is behind the Djinn in the Circus, not just Galbraiths Home You can also revive the Matriarch Spider (just like the bulette and the minotaur) IF you push her down. Forgot to add the description on how to get Wulbren, which is through siding with him against the Gondians. Dont need to go completely naked to get the +4 bonus for Abdiraks ritual, only torso armor. You dont actually have to kill the owlbear for one of the components, just leave and wait for the goblins to do it. I am currently working on a continuation of the series plus another funny playthrough, so be sure to subscribe!
Another thing I keep seeing missed: Derryth in the myconid colony sells an antidote. You can use it to cure her same with the other similar heals. But considering it’s a small amount of gold, it’s likely the best use
A secret I haven’t seen mentioned anywhere else is that you get a unique hag potion if you pick up Auntie Ethel’s corpse. If it’s on a character or in your travelers chest, the body is replaced with the potion Boon of the Hag after a long rest. Even if you’re collecting trophies, it’s pretty rare to have enough strength to pick up her body at this stage in the game though…
@@Totidoful You can drink an elixir of strengh to carry more (more powerfull on human since they can carry 25% more). And you can push ennemies into the well in the village (automatically killing them) linked to the spider's cave. Witch bring the question, can you "push" the dragon from the githyanki's party into the well, killing it, and push it again in the underdark to get your dragon pet ?
5:39 This part is not true. Well, at least what he says does not depend on if he has a magic build or not. Because he is a high elf, he has firebolt as a permanent spell, so he can say that first sentence no matter if he has a magic build or not. Source: Astarion is a Thief Rogue in my campaign. He said this yesterday.
Fun fact about Arabella’s parents poisoning Kagha. She only apologizes if they’re actually about to kill her. If you intervene and stop Komira from killing her she does NOT say she’s sorry and gloats
No, i did the redemption route (unintentionally) she apologizes before even finding out she's poisoned but arabellas mother hears nothing of it (rightfully so) @@Tuskbumper
It was impossible for me _not_ to get it. Performing is so useful both as a distraction and when initiating combat, tho in the latter case there's no one left to pay you, sadly. Also you don't have to pick up the gold, they just have to throw it. Gotta admit it's kinda funny seeing gnome slaves stop digging and then throw you gold.
If you go and talk to Barth after he tells the kid to keep the amulet, you find out that he originally got the amulet from HIS mother, and he thinks she’d be happy that the kid has it now.
Extra fact about Meli, the kid who stole the locket: If you return to the Grove after the Tieflings have left you can find it in a box in the kid's hideout. It seems he left it behind.
I wonder if the tiefling woman being eaten by the ogres in the blighted village is their mother cause she has a locket on her body but the little laugh at the end of the conversation with the kid makes me think they’re lying.
Meli places the locket in a box down there as soon as the scene is over. You can return it to the guy to get more dialog, including the story of how he came to have the locket in the first place.
@@alexanderball9080all i know about her is that if you cast speak to dead on her you find out the ogres didn’t kill her, she’s in fact zorru’s friend, the one that githyanki patrol gutted
his may be known to people who played DOS2, but if you find yourself failing survival checks, you can simply keep a shovel on your hotbar to dig and find the buried chest regardless
I have found 3 portraits of DOS2 party members. I know that I found Fane in the Blighted Village. I think it was in the Masterwork house. I don't recall where the other two were.
@@brucebrantley5692 Lohse is in the room where you first meet Nettie, Ben Mezhd is upstairs in the Ogres building in the Blighted Village, Red Prince is upstairs in Waukeen's Rest, on the far eastern side. @@normanbates7373No I KNOW she can be down there. I pushed her down there myself with a Void Bulb but when I had Glut breathe spores into her, she just looked normal, no mushroom overgrowth.
@@ThatFlawedGuydamn. u R right. I looked up again and she looks same as alive.. But I still guess it's not unintended... If not u should also not be able to loot her corpse. act1 got most attention since ea.
Fun fact: I did it in My first playthrough. Came *extremely* handy later on when I was playing hide and seek with Oliver. Had Astarion cast a couple of Fog Clouds on the wraiths, all the while being perfectly able to see the kid and catching up to him.
A small detail I found really intresting and sad...the tiefling Ellyka you find before the githyanki patrol can be found later in the game, in one of the prisons at the entrance hall of the Githyanki Creché. Dead. She never avoided them after all.
You can also give the poisoned gnome an antidote, health potion or poison resistance poison and you don't have to kill the owlbear mother for the spear, she'll be killed by goblins no matter what. You do have to trigger the encounter and visit goblin camp though. Anyway damn, I had no idea you can have Ethel be your ally in the final fight, jesus.
Same with Sarevok! I want those two in my fight along with the ooze when I do my first honor mode run (Evil Durge because if Im gonna do honor mode, I may as well go all the way)
@@level420weedwizard You need both, you can dice roll yourself out of the owlbear but you do need to trigger it. Otherwise the cub won't appear in the goblin camp and game will think the mother never died. If you return after seeing the cub in goblin camp, her lair will be all messed up by a raid with her dead.
One of my favorite secrets is the fact that you can kill the last dark justiciar in the gauntlet of shar before meeting yugir to completely skip the encounter and have access to a secret vendor. Yugir even helps you find the devils fee and automatically helps on the Raphael fight
@@Skyblade12 he still gets mad when you don’t kill him but I passed a persuasion check and I already gave him the necromancy of thay so no harm no foul haha
@@Skyblade12I think he will leave the party if you fail to persuade him to stay. Of course if you don’t have him with you when Rachel tells you about Yugir I dunno if he gets mad since he wouldn’t have made any deal.
@@theredeft5319 my current playthrough: didn’t have Astarion with me when I purposely ran into Raphael. So, no deal for Astarian. However, I had Astarian with me when I ran into Yurgir-and Astarian basically said to NOT kill Yurgir just to screw over Raphael! Lol-so we made a deal with Yurgir instead!
At the Last Light Inn, there is a log book that lists Boo and companion as former guests. Somewhere in act 3, I found a book that detailed the beginning of Dribbles the clown. I didn't get Rolan at the wizard tower until my 3rd play through. I am at 1098 hrs into the game.
6:00 Annnnd this is why Rapheal is a GOAT of a villian. God I love Rapheal. I never cared for villains but boy this guy this guy is such a great character.
Stripping for Abdirak’s ritual and the Amulet of Silvanus were the ones that really surprised me. Most others I had seen in one form or another before.
Got this one in my recent playthrough: if you save the zen duo from the gnolls as a rogue, you get a dialouge option where you can convince them to sell the shipment themselves and report it missing. When you go to the hideout they welcome you with open arms. Going down it turns out they caught the duo trying to backstab them with the youngest already dead and the other beaten to a pulp tied to a chair. You get "asked" to slit his throath and deliver the package in his stead. Welcome to the family!
Urchin background gets this, too. I accidentally triggered the conversation after the fight as Shadowheart (before Patch 6 prioritized the PC in conversation,) so I took it to see what happened. It was poor Olly already being dead that made me never do it again. Rugen is a lying bastard, because he's never at the Elfsong when you finally get there.
You get a very similar outcome if you convince the zents you’ll deliver it (I opened it accidentally), but when you get to the hideout, you’ll find the scene where Olli is dead and you are asked to determine the fate of the other zent (who’s a real trash imo-you find out why when you get the scene).
You can also talk to the two guys in the cave, get the password for the hideout, take the caravan strongbox and put it in your inventory unopened. When you get to the hideout, give the box to Zarys, she’ll reward you handsomely. Go down to the vendor and buy some good gear, then back up to Zarys. Enter turn based mode, push her off the ledge, then follow up with a fire arrow. After a very satisfying explosion, loot the whole cave, making sure to get the strongbox with the iron flask off Zarys.
Always remember to keep Disguise Self handy if you want to use Speak With Dead on a creature you killed! Also, you can use Speak With Dead to talk to Yurgir's bed of corpses in the Gauntlet of Shar.
I wish they’d have removed that part of speak with dead and just made it that the spell compels them to answer. It’s super annoying to have to disguise self even with the magic helmet all the time. And if a corpse has nothing to say I don’t think it should cost a spell slot, because if it were a real dnd game they’d always have something to say.
@@theredeft5319 Speak With Dead is a ritual spell, so it only costs a spell slot if used in combat, and why would you use it in combat? Also, once you use it once, even if it fails, you can use the recast for it until your next Long Rest, which has no resource cost at all.
There are some very fun wild magic interactions with characters like the hag and some conversations with Gale. Speaking of Gale if you bring him with you to see Tara she’ll give him a blink ring and Gale will tell her to stop eating the pigeons to solve the mini-quest without a roll.
Also if you have the interaction with Tara and Gale, she will appear on 2 more rooftops in Lower City, with items to sell. You can find her on top of the wine tasting murder target's house, and on top of the Devil's Fee. One item is a nifty spell caster hat in a cowboy/fedora style and the other is a pair of boots that return when thrown and do psychic damage to the target.
Gale doesn't really tell her to stop eating pigeons though, it's more of a stern suggestion lol! I love it!! Didn't know about the other lower city appearances, thanks you!
@@The_Real_Fomsie wtf returning boots, bout to make a Returning build holy shit, I saw her the first time but since it resolved from my first meeting just assumed her lil ass went back to Gales house or something. Can't wait to see her, well Gale is dead, so nvm
Some things: If you become an Unholy Assassin as the Dark Urge, Sarevok will tell you to come back and talk to him, after you fight Orin. If you do, he'll fight you to the death. Gauntlet Yeva shows up again in the Mind Flayer Colony, in Act 2. She's in trapped in one of the pods along with Zevlor, if he survived to that point. There is another katana in the game, but, if you try to loot it, or any of the other items on the Djinn's prize shelves, whoever tries to pick them up will remark that everything there is absolutely worthless. My neat thing that I've only done once is, if you get the Gith egg from the Creche in Act 1 and keep it until the end of the game, and are in a relationship with Lae'zel, AND she survives into the Epilogue, she'll comment that the egg has hatched into a Gith boy. This means that you can, more or less, have a child with Lae'zel.
what I found interesting is that if you put an elixir of Arcane Cultivation inside Nere's body and bring it to the underdark then you can resurrect him with Sovereign Gut and use his unique abilities. I think the same thing could be done to any boss in act 1-2
omg how cool is it that you can disguise yourself as a gith and the npc reacts to that?! I love it! There are some hidden details in the game, it's wonderful!!
If u revive priestess gut with soverign glut at the underdark, she can cast armour of protection on all party members that gives +2 AC for free (until long rest), and her version of the spell doesnt even require concentration! Great buff for act I if u ask me. Im currently sitting on 725 + hrs on gameplay time
I’m about to hit 1000 hours in BG3 myself and I’m a very thorough player (hence the 1000 hours) so I wasn’t expecting to hear anything new, but I was pleasantly surprised how wrong I was! Thanks for so many new tips I can incorporate in future runs! This was excellent!
There are a few good pickpocket interactions too. For example, if you pickpocket the amulet from Keli and talk to Barth, you have the option to hand it back to him, in which Keli complements you on your skill, then walks away after taunting Barth. There's a similar dialog with Mattis if you pickpocket his "magic ring" before talking to him, then claim responsibility for its disappearance. If you pickpocket the Runepowder Vial off Philomeen, she'll turn hostile when she reaches for it to try to hand over to you. However, there is an exit point for the conversation before this happens. This can allow you to obtain both the Runepowder Barrel and Vial (pickpocket the Vial first before taking the Barrel, the Barrel immediately triggers dialog) while leaving Philomeen alive and the game thinking she still has the Vial.
Okay. There were a few new ones for me. But most are like....not even obscure.... Hell, the dialog with the poisoned gnome literally prompts you to give her an antidote if you have one on hand...
You don't have to kill Owlbear mother. Goblins will kill her and will take a cub with them in their camp. You can save him from there and get a camp follower and later an ally in the fight against Absolute. You can visit a cave later and get a second half of a spear from her body. The cub in the camp will become a good friend with Scratch. 😊
I just remembered that Barth (the guy the kid steals the amulet from) and Volo share a VA. Knowing this always throws me off in the amulet situation. Usually end up either punching Aradin myself or hoping Zevlor does it.
didn´t know about the revenge plot on khaga and the gith disguise. as for aradin´s companion. the kid runs away laughing, so i think that sob story was just made up to keep the amulet.
Found during (another) durge run: if you kill any Druid after talking to Kagha, she uhh- takes matters into her own hands about the teiflings. You get a special dialogue scene from Karlack and Minthara when you meet them
Don't even have to be Durge-ey, if you use "charm person" while talking to Kagha the first time, she will realize it, think you're being hostile, and order the druids to... act accordingly... I was a happy-go-lucky bard just trying to save some refugees and didn't realize she'd react to charming in that way. It was like a horror movie.
Great video! Seeing Raphael rehearsing is hilarious! I found at 8:15 you don't personally need to kill the owlbear mother. If you go to her, get close to her, then prevent her from attacking you, you'll still find the owlbear cub at the goblin camp. If you return to the cave you'll find the owlbear mother was killed by a goblin hunting party and can loot the spear half from her body
You can go turn-based while the kid is running away and pick his pocket, if you can get hidden. Then you'll have an extra dialogue option because he really doesn't have the locket.
You don't have to kill the owlbear mother the goblins will anyway and the cub will be at the goblins camp. Walk back and loot the spear tip from the corpse
I am gulity of not knowing any of these, thankfully this video exists to help me out. So cool, thanks for another banger of a video. Much love from me (and I'm sure from the rest of your community)!
Something I learned recently is that there are two sets of camp clothes that I’m pretty sure are exclusively found in the circus which look pretty cute.
An acid arrow will take out the phase spider egg clutches. If you can get the phase spider queen knocked down into the underdark she can be resurrected by Glut
I was playing as a dwergar and found out that the petrificated dwarf in Ethel's house thought that he got a disease that would make him a dwergar. If you play any other race, the name of disease will tell you nothing, but not to my dwergar Tav. And the dwarf was a little bit ashamed after the conversation.
You can misty step in the myicnide cave/reward area and steel the stuff in there. Also you can kill everone in moonrise (exept for the pilgrems and the merchaints) by use the sword shreek to push people out side or in the main hall and kill them. Also greater invisablity is hands down the best way to take down bosses. So aslong you have andvantage and a based stealth profeicesy with pass with out a trace. Like my durge thief shado monk with pass with out trace had 23 to stealth checks.
I first discovered Gerringothe Thorm by accident - panicked thinking my entire party was going to be wiped out when I seen her health - used transmutation to turn her into a sheep to save myself and once she turned back she only had 6 health, the transformation had stripped her of all of her armour.
funny enough - I ended up doing a lot of these on my first run on accident, but completely missed very large chunks of things like the actual forge and guardian at grymforge.. lol
When I played as a vengence paladin I failed to save Arabella and then when the parents wanted to poison Kadga on my party I stopped them and I broke my oath of vengence XD
If you pick up one of the clubs off the ground from the Moonrise tower prison docks where you save the prisoners, you can reverse pickpocket Duke Ravenguard to get his unique long sword as the club auto equips itself when you put it in anyone’s inventory. I was even able to do this as of yesterday (03-15-24) on Honour mode patch 6…. Used Greater Invis and some buffs. I would not suggest trying this while controlling Wyll as if you fail and get caught you lose the Duke and Wyll and Mizora will also leave if she is in your camp. The Duke and Mizora will also leave notes for you on the ground where they were standing in camp.
@@im7254 oh shit! I didn’t even think about doing that! I think I have a tactician save right before Myrkul so I will try and see if it got patched. Man this game is great! I’ve got over 500 hours and I’m still learning new stuff about it almost everyday. Thanks for the tip.
thing is with the guy, the locket and the tifling it may be less sweet to some once you learn the backstory of the locket from the man himself. He got it from his mother yes, but his mother also stole it from the house she was working as a maid for. So funny in a way the locket that was stole by his mother was stolen from him in return. XD
It took me 3 runs to realize Florick appears again in Act 3. I somehow missed her completely on my first run (even in Act 1) and just never came across her Act 3 quest in my second run lmao
If you push Gerringothe Thorm out the window she'll completely disrobe making her 1 easier to kill, 2 lead me to believe the skulls have a certain range (might be fun with certain hold spells or sussur blooms).
You don’t actually have to kill the owlbear mother, you can long rest after encountering her and goblins will have killed her (leaving the spear head on her body) and taken her cub back to their camp.
At the tiefling party after killing the goblin leaders Korilla may make an appearance in the grass near Wyll, but I think you have to be in stealth for her to appear
Another companion you can get during the end fight is the wizard from the tower if you bring him the Nightsong, it is actually a very nice help since he shoots meteors for you at enemies. But I doubt it's worth for the story
I was annoyed that video started with the dog collar, cause feels like everyone talks about that. But oh god the other facts! Amazing, thank you so much. Laughing out loud about Raphael 😂😂😂 and the grove! Always thought it's stupid to ask why the kid steals, but somehow it ends with the best outcome
Knew: dog collar and meat, Arabella's parents' revenge, ways to save the poisoned deep gnome, the two craftable weapons, Amulet of Sylvanus, Sovereign Glut's underdark rampage (and in fact I have an addition here - if you kill the Phase Spider Matriarch by shoving her in the pit, her body can be found in the Underdark and Sovereign Glut can resurrect THAT and really wreck the underdark) Didn't know: full range of final battle allies, halfling unique dialogue, full scope of interactions between Meli and Barth, Gerringothe's unique animation, Astarion's Grimishka reactions, Rafael's practice, Ardent Apostle buff, the katana, the Woundseeker, the Bonespike Gloves, gith disguise unique intaraction Nice vid!
If you play as the dark urge you can actually save the bard teethling by making urself a bard then before she joins your team play using her instrument and when she asks to join you before you’re about to kill her you get flash backs of you playing her tunes and you resist the urge and you can keep her till act 2 when then she unfortunately dies because she actually is infected and following her she gos to moonrise but the people there are racist and you can’t save her but I didn’t know you could at least have her until act 2 after 500+ hours of playing
I replay the game only to glut the frog. I replay the game only to use oathbreaker paladin pet undead scissorboy. (I think spiderboy can also be pet? Not sure). Godtier game.
Something fun you can do with sovereign gluts animating spores, if you knock the giant phase spider mother off her webs and into the hole that leads to the underdark, you can find her dead body when you go down there and you can use sovereign glut to use animating spores on it
I knew about the one of the little tiefling kid pocketing the locket, but I ended up telling the guy to shut up and stop threatening a kid so I didn't see the really good one.
One thing i didn't know until recently; you apparently can't have both Arabella and her parents live. If she is alive, they die to Malus Thorm in the House of Healing in Act 2. If she dies, they live.
raphael realy is the embodiment of "somebody studied shakespear and now its everybody's probleme..." dude even do repetitions waiting for you i'm dead xD
