Secrets of an alcoholic

Alcoholics are liars, cheats and deceive EVERYONE around them.
Here's TWO places I used to hide alcohol in full view and no-one ever found them.
Women are very clever, so the alcoholic has to be one step ahead, and they mostly are.

I was a raging alcoholic junkie and I quit it all and now I can live. I was vomiting blood and I was shaking so badly that I couldn’t hold a pencil or button my buttons or do anything for myself. I detoxed in the hospital and the nurses treated me much better than I deserved. I’m crying thinking about it and writing this 6 years later. It’s no one else’s fault. You have to take responsibility for yourself and get clean for yourself. If you are doing it for other people it won’t last and you’ll end up worse than before you tried to stop. I wish you the best. I hope you have the support you need. Even though a person must make the changes for themselves, they need support from others. 12 steps is still statistically the most effective way for a person to get clean and sober. The drug abuse is only a symptom of the spiritual malady that keeps addicts and alcoholics(just a specific type of addict but an addict nonetheless) using the drugs they use and staying miserable. 12 steps and the rooms of Narcotics anonymous saved my life and people helped me to do what I could not do alone. May God bless you on this journey.

I also had to detox in hospital and they were great to me. I went into hepatic encephalopathy and went into alcoholic psychosis. Was in a coma for a week. Had to learn to walk, talk, read, and write again. It was a slow process. After 2 months in and out of the hospital was clean for 6 months then found out after I get sober the wife is now leaving so I said f it and went back. Now I'm at the point I know I'm going to die if I don't stop quickly now. But I'm scared from what I went through also scared they won't help me again that I did this to myself again so I have been trying to do it at home. It's scary ASF. One day at a time I guess wish me luck and I wish and pray for everyone else that is going through this. Ciroross sucks. Vitamin B1 and folic acid has been a good send but that's not a cure

Hiding alcohol… I thought I was so slick with my alcohol hiding strategies until I went to AA and got a topical discussion on hiding booze. I hid booze in water bottles , drinking half pints as I rolled through car washes, toilet tanks… , dead drops about the house... wall hallows… furnace filters.. After I shared my story a man with a new liver told me he put vodka in his windshield washer tank and rerouted the flow to inside the vehicle cabin. He put a tube in his mouth and got a shot anytime he wanted. And that is when I knew I was alcoholic and I was lucky to be alive.

Here's a genuine question I have: How do alcoholics even do it physically? I can go months without drinking, but when I do, I mostly go on benders, because I drink to battle axiety. However: I can't do it for long, because it just really messes up my intestines. I get reflux, heartburn and diarreah. So at some point, I will get sick to the stomach just smelling booze. How do you do this daily and not immediately get stopped by your own body?

One of the main processes that happens in alcohol is the same process that makes LSD.

But I have chronic pain from an untreated infection and my body feels more comfortable when I do drink 😞 I’m in Shetland and the only clinic treating chronic UTI is in London and my GP hasn’t wanted to refer me. So I self medicate with alcohol to deal with the pain, I bought my own antibiotics before (prof Malone-Lee protocol) and it helps but I can’t afford the length of the treatment, at least 1 year.

I used to leave work every afternoon, buy a 2 litre bottle of volvic water (strawberry flavour) and pour a half bottle of vodka into it. That would get drank on the bus home, in plain sight. I thought I was sneaky. In fact, I was just a drunk. Now, the smell of strawberry flavoured volvic water makes me gag.

My ex filled the small water bottles with liquor. I accidentally grabbed a bottle a couple times and took a big gulp 😫 . I am a holiday drinker at most. Still think it was a ploy to take me out.

You can't hide from whatever the thing is you get "drunk" on instead of filling up on the Spirit. Preacher's who think you can hide from it are clueless and live in a isolated tower needing someone else to be in touch for them. What they really need to do is go get a job and see what it is before they talk down on those whom they swear they're leading. The fact they're hiding makes me wonder why they think they want to pastor. But there's no hiding because it's all around. Typically you have to get away from whomever is bringing you down. Because people love to share misery. I know I need people who are doing their best... might be struggling... and I avoid those who have thrown in the towel and given up. Birds of a feather will flock together either to keep on losing or to keep submitting to God. No one can do it by themselves. Sometimes I find myself looking back but once I see what it is... and I mean with no involvement.. once I see it I'm disgusted by it..I can see the spirit and it's not anything good or right or true or holy. Alcohol, narcotics, works of the flesh, whatever it is that's not God is a spirit and you have to get where you recognize it and recognize the Holy Spirit calling you back and stop rebuking Him because if you don't you've already died/lost.
