Secrets of Early Life: How the Cambrian REALLY Changed the World | Earth History Documentary

🌍 When, and above all how, did life evolve on our planet? This existential question, which we all ask ourselves at one time or another, animates scientific communities the world over. To answer it, paleontologists have no choice but to uncover fossils and study them at length, in order to date them and exploit the extensive data collected. While certain periods in the history of our distant past are beginning to provide some clues, one in particular stands out from all the rest, so exceptional does it seem.
We're going to take a very close look at one of the most famous and important eras in the history of the Earth, and of life in particular. This is the Cambrian period. This phase of history marks the appearance of the first ancestors of the plant world, but above all, represents the dawn of the Paleozoic era, with the appearance of living beings that still exist today.
Transported more than 500 million years into the past, our journey through time takes us to a time when the land was rocky and desolate, but the oceans were inhabited by mind-boggling creatures. This period in Earth's history saw the sudden appearance of almost every major form of animal life, in a short period that is thought to have lasted around 25 million years. Scientists call this explosion of life the Cambrian Explosion. This event, unique on the time scale, was therefore of paramount importance for the occurrence and development of life as we know it today.
🔥 As a reminder, videos are published on SUNDAYS at 6pm.
-------------------------
💥 Cambrian Era:
- More than 3.9 billion years have passed since the formation of planet Earth. The Precambrian phase, which successively encompasses the Hadean, Archean and Proterozoic eons, was marked by the formation of the oceans, the cooling of the Earth and the solidification of its crust, followed by the formation of the continents Columbia and Rodinia. But it also witnessed the appearance of life in the form of bacteria, then later, during the Neoproterozoic era, the appearance of the Ediacaran marine fauna, with archaic organisms, but above all the bilaterian metazoans.
The Cambrian thus follows this first, long period of almost 4 billion years. This is the first era of a long series that makes up the Phanerozoic Eon, which extends to the present day, itself divided into four sub-categories. The first corresponds to the Paleozoic Eon, or Primary Era, beginning with the Cambrian. The second sub-category is the Mesozoic, or secondary era. Then follows the Tertiary and finally the Quaternary eras, grouped together under the Cenozoic eon, which saw the appearance of the first primates and the evolution of many species as we know them today.
But let's return to the period we're interested in, the starting point of the Paleozoic era: the Cambrian period. Spanning the period from 541 to 485 million years ago, this is the oldest of the six Paleozoic periods. What happened during these 56 million years that marked a decisive turning point, to the point of being defined as the starting point of a new and one of the greatest divisions of geological time, namely the Phanerozoic Eon?
But what might the planet have looked like during the Cambrian period, which marks the beginning of the Lower Paleozoic? During the Pre-Cambrian Eon, Rodinia was a megacontinent that brought together all the continental masses. Under the influence of plate tectonics, it gradually fragmented. Pieces of continental crust began to drift away across the vastness of the oceans.

It's how evolution works. The thing that people don't grasp about evolution is that we are neither the ultimate end point nor are we in any way shape or form superior. It only has to do with being able to live in an ever-changing environment. *shrugs* people will see what they want to, though. All of us, including myself. The key is to mitigate that as much as possible by essentially admitting to ourselves "I am a really shitty judge of things, I have a bunch of bias that will make finding the truth next to impossible" and that is true for everyone. But I will agree, I was always confused by anti-evolution proponents who said "I didn't evolve from monkeys!" and the like. I mean, if your creator is all powerful, why couldn't he orchestrate evolution? just the words of a few humans thousands of years ago, who we admit are fallible. It's definitely a brain cruncher though, I digress. Best wishes.
@slupot
@slupot 9 месяцев назад
@SuperMrHiggins if there is a creator, it created life to evolve via natural selection. Same with the universe, through expansion via "big bang". Maybe God is merely the spark that became the big bang. Something cannot come from nothing. For something to exist, "nothing" can not.

This is absolutely the WORST so-called "educational" video on RU-vid -- this in spite of the lavish visuals. The narrator, if human, has utterly failed to do even the minimum of homework -- even a quick cursory read-through -- that would have enabled him to understand what he is saying. As a consequence, his robotic announcing of phrases never amounts to comprehensible sentences, and is almost impossible to follow. Most egregiously, the robotic voice misreads "Iapetus", pronouncing it "Lapetus" in every instance. This is unforgivable. How could this have been missed by even the most unskilled scriptwriter or editor? Was no one making even a token effort at oversight?

@djirate052380

@@oldgeezerproductions tell me legitimately that age dating is accurate with a straight face man. These scientists sit and come up with a hypothesis. They carbon date some rocks (carbon dating is extremely inaccurate) numerous times and pick the date that best fits their narrative. For evolutionists LMBO there isn't even one single shred of evidence that evolution ever took place. Not a scientist or human on earth has proof. When scientists find a bone and build an entire body around one single bone and call it ancient man and then get caught in their lie when we find out it was just a chimp tooth. Today's scientists don't know their butts from a hole in the ground. Everything we have been taught is a lie. I used to stand with the science community and was ready to give my life for its "truth". What a dummy I was to listen to liars and half truths. The age of the earth is very easy to determine without science at all and that method is far more evidence than guessing rock ages out of the ten samples done in a test that has a 0.1 accuracy. Fossils have been found that are proof of an instant fossilization. Fish eating other fish at that moment of fossilization. Human foot prints next to dinosaur tracks. The Smithsonian has hidden so much history it would blow your mind. The giant skeletons they took and hid away among many many other finds. This world is ran by children of Satan man. They lie. If you can find one single shred of actual proof of evolution or dating of rocks then please do
