You motivate me to get my own truck man 🙏 I’ve been company driver for 6 years and o think I need to step it up! Were you a mechanic before being your own boss? And where are you from I love your energy and videos 🤝🤝

Thank you…! Yes I was a mechanic prior to being a truck driver. So I have a lot of advantage over many people. So many helpful info on YT now tho. As long as you the basic of your equipment. You can look up things on YT and I’m sure someone has already made a video about it.

Hey, you are doing a great job. I can do some, too. Can I ask you a question? To do power only, am I must have my own authority? Thank you.

sorry! i did not get it, do you apply torch first, WHY? than apply prime paint than paint? what kind of paint are you using? name? KENWORTH very relaible truck, freighliner doesn't last after a certain period of time, maybe first 5 years, I guess, I don't see much old freightliners on the roads. what do you think?
@pinoytrucking
@pinoytrucking 8 месяцев назад
When I feel like the bolt will not move at all. I just go straight to torch. Primer/Paint I just use high temp ones. I do agree that KW is quality type of truck.
@pinoytrucking
@pinoytrucking 8 месяцев назад
I got the primer/paint from Home Depot. I got the Rust-O-Lem from Harbor Freight. Will explain the process deeper soon.

10:11 This explains why rates won't increase in the near future. People booking in large numbers just to escape or cover fuel costs justify everything. It reflects the desperation of individuals, and running a business in such desperation is likely to fail eventually.
@pinoytrucking
@pinoytrucking 8 месяцев назад
I see your point but what better way would you look at it? How would you ever get out of SLC market thats better than what I showed? Deadhead? Cant deadhead less than 700miles from there and still find a good rate. Now at that current rate if you own your truck and running a PO. I will still be making over 90c a mile for myself. The key to running it is to know your cost per mile and being familiar with the market your going into. Noone ever comes into a market and make good $$$ then still make good $$$ coming out. I wish that was the case but if it were everyone with 30K-50K in investment will run trucks and make millions. The loadboard is a floating market its based on supply and demand. I guarantee you if we look at Salt Lake market right now we will see way more trucks available than loads available.
@jonathanhnunez
@jonathanhnunez 8 месяцев назад
@@pinoytrucking Totally get what you're saying! Navigating the current market, especially in SLC, is like a puzzle. Knowing your costs and riding the waves of supply and demand on the loadboard is the name of the game. Adapting and being cost-aware - that's the secret sauce for keeping the cash flow steady. And yeah, having a sharp CPA or mastering the art of budgeting in these rollercoaster times is like your secret weapon. But hey, not everyone held onto their 2021 market boom winnings, and now they're in choppy waters. It's a marathon, not a sprint - gotta play the long game and be money-smart.

100% I think people that mostly complain about rates are the people bought high equipment and now in a pickle with these current rates. These rates are actually in line the past only difference is the fuel cost but that slowly went down over the months and now the truck to freight availability is balancing the market might be stabilizing. I think I like it better this way in terms of growing a company instead of the everyone getting high rates. Keeps the used equipment low and still be able to navigate the floating market to make profit and at same time see a growth in the company. I do like the way you think and good luck out there.

@@pinoytruckingNah, you are wrong. I OWN both , truck and trailer . I still complain. It is not only about RPM and fuel cost. It is about INFLATION brought upon us by irresponsible / corrupt government. I am parked since December 12. It is YOU and others just like YOU who are destroying the market. When I book a load, I don’t see what it pays/ loaded mile. I look at what it pays for the TOTAL miles I have to drive to get it done. I just centralized everything for last year. It came out that I did $2.8 /mile. That is BOTH, LOADED AND EMPTY (calculated after factoring fee was deducted). If all O/Os would do what I do, we would be in a better position. Once again, YOU are the problem. Have a ….day.

Hold on, Salt Lake City is actually a really good area to be in, lots of freight and power only opportunities. We get power only loads $3 mile round trip vans up north to Seattle and back. Problem with most power only is one way hard to get home Trailer prices are cheap too, I see 2018 or newer vans going for 10k on auctions
@pinoytrucking
@pinoytrucking 8 месяцев назад
I am starting to see these cheap trailers at auction and they’re so tempting. I’m gonna hold off a little longer and be picky. If you getting $3 mile PO in Salt Lake City . That’s darn good. I might need to keep an eye out in that market.
@akbarshoed
@akbarshoed 8 месяцев назад
My question is..... since maintenance records are mandatory for trucks, why would an auction truck not have that file for us to look at? 🤔
@pinoytrucking
@pinoytrucking 8 месяцев назад
I’m sure you can track it down. I’ve been around vehicles long enough to know that maintenance for records can be easily forced. Based on the condition of some of the things I see on this truck; it’s definitely neglected.

Okay, chief, I have to know! Make and model of the torque wrench??? 3/4” drive, right? I torque my lug nuts to 515 ft. lbs. but it’s always a hassle finding someone to do it. It requires a long torque wrench; 4’ is not too long… need long and heavy to do that job properly. Also, as I mentioned, it has to be 3/4” drive. I’ve priced Snap-On but they’re major expensive. Did you find a reasonably priced one and where did you find it? I’ll order the damn thing today! 👍👍👍
@truthseeker5890
@truthseeker5890 4 месяца назад
I think I found it. There's an "Icon" brand with Harbor Freight that's currently priced at: $399.99. It looks good. It's a 3/4" drive with a range of 100-600 ft. lbs. That's as reasonable as I've found in years. Also, if it breaks, Harbor Freight will likely just hand a new one to me. A comparable Snap-on (120-600 ft. lbs.) is currently priced at: $1,125.00. That's a $725.00 difference... wayyyyyy too high! I can break almost three of those from Harbor Freight for one Snap-on. Hopefully, I guessed correctly. If not and if you have something better for comparable money, please let me know. Again, thank you for showing the numbers. I appreciate it.

What were finding in Power Only, these fly by night guys are cutting rates so low just to get the job, are hurting the rest of us, just like JB Hunt did to us back in the late 80's. Then brokers are asking us to pull stuff for same rate that the fly by night guy just did. Only problem with fly by night guys, they not making enough money to pay their insurance bill, maintenance bill, truck payments, and the repo man is chasing him around the country to repo the truck. And if fly by night guy damaged the trailer, who pays the cost. This is why those of us in Power Only look down on these fly by night guys. They are hurting us in the long run. Ya, you can pull cheap freight runs for so long before your luck runs out. Maintenance is the biggest killer of new drivers. Take care of your equipment, or you'll be sorry. No joke. If the run doesn't pay the truck $2 per mile minimum, don't bother.

I have all of the endorsements and do PO. Every hazmat load has required a Hazmat Certification and wouldn't take my endorsement. Plus you need a 1mil pollution spill coverage.
