Just bought this model. Great dpi resolution for scanning (1200 dpi), i'm satisfied with the quality of printing in color. I spent 180$ for it. I consider the purchase successful.

No it can't, it might damage the printer head if particles are too big. This is dye only printer. You also lose warranty using pigment inks.

Have use check your usb port please use the 3.0 usb port to improve printing speed also check the print quality maybe did you set the quality to high??
