1:10 "Ball feels heavy". Ugh. That is the worst feeling. So that heavy feeling is a consequence of being late. There is no excuse at the 4.0 level for the opponent's ball to feel like a bowling ball. *Prepare early and there's no way that a 2 ounce fuzzy fluffy soft spinning ball is gonna feel heavy against a 180 pound guy!!*
Hi Pete, great lesson on early prep which is one of the biggest missing puzzle pieces for my new and improved forehand. I find that when I prepare really early that I seem to have too much grip tension prior to the swing. Not sure why. Maybe I am taking my non-dominant hand off the racquet too soon. Isn't there a difference between when to make the unit turn and when to coil and take the racket back? If you're coiled too early, won't you be too committed to make any adjustments and your timing will feel off?
