Passed with a 93% today. A lot of weird questions that I didn't see anywhere on any study guides, but apparently I didn't need to. Mr. Mig is everything that is good about America. I wish there were more people like him. Thanks for the help, Teach.

I am going through your Part 107 playlist after watching a couple of others that were about 1.5 hours each and I am very much enjoying your content. I feel like you are covering these topics more thoroughly than the other videos did and instead of giving the answers and maybe an extremely brief explanation other than "that's the answer", you give us a good explanation of why the answer is correct and the process behind it. Great job Mr. Mig!

Just wanted to say that I only had maybe 3 weather related questions and a metric ton of aeronautical chart questions, and quite a few about CTAF. Hope this helps someone. First of all thank you for your excellent videos. Regarding the question involving the class C airspace around Savannah and photographing the tower, if the tower was 1,100 ft you would be below class e 1,200 but would you still have the option of flying 400ft above the tower without authorisation?

Thank you so much for your videos! Can we did deeper into the Savannah Question? I understand 1200 would be Class E airspace, but let me give 3 possible scenarios. 1. What if you were given the tower at (1150) in the question (below class E), BUT you know that you can fly up to 400ft over the obstacle, which would put you back into Class C. Does the FAA want you to include the 400ft? So the answer would still be Class C, or would it fall to Class G because it is under Class E? 2. What if the question gave you 1295 AGL for the tower height? This would easily put you over 1300 MSL. Class C starts at 1300 MSL correct? What would be the correct answer here? 3. For a variation on a theme, what if you were given at 1195 AGL tower heigh, which would put you over 1200 MSL (Class E) Thanks so much for your help!!

Having a coffee, I have my phone and I need to thank you for doing this. And in parti'm at the point where echo airspace exists under. Charlie airspace and you're pointing out how they can get you with that and I've heard this mentioned as the videos play in the background as I do my thing but I just got it.And thank you

Thanks for the video. i am a teacher also and will be teaching a drone flight and liscensing class starting this fall. I am studing for the Part 107 test so I can teach the class. question with Figure 23 @ 21:45, there's a shaded magenta circle "underneath" the solid magenta circle (Class C), which is a class E with floor 700' above AGL, so you would need ATC authorization even if you are flying at 701'.

At 13:13 this is a class E4 airspace. Any E airspace added to a class D airspace with a segmented line does not require atc permission . So just depends how high the tower is above the ground. If over 700 feet then you would need permission.

Any other videos you could do that cover the charts as they relate to potential test questions would be really appreciated. On a side note, can you recommend any study guides (in addition to the FAA publications)?

I rewatched this video and the charts are much clearer and easier to read now. Appreciate the Savannah airspace question and explanation. I have a question as I live in a mountain and deep canyon area, if I fly my drone 200ft AGL from my take off point over a deep canyon that is more than 600 ft lower than my take off point, am I still in G airspace? Not sure if someone else has mentioned this but about 24-25 min, that question, isn’t that a shaded magenta class E air space as well? If so you would need authorization for inspecting that tower even if it was below 1,200’. I’m new to this so I could be wrong.

At 24:30 you talk about flying above a tower that takes you above the 1,200' AGL floor of/into Class E, stating ATC authorization is required... Couple of things; am not finding anything that states that upper level of E needs authorization, but if it is indeed required, how to get it? I'm very familiar with getting LAANC approvals, but it seems to only be available near airports and up to 400' AGL. So, how does one go about getting the authorization for flying above structures (in otherwise G space, or anywhere else above 400' AGL) that takes you into Class E space? Does the DroneZone website handle this? Also... is the authorization required above 1,200 AGL when nowhere near an airport? Trying to clarify this in my head, as I'm seeing conflicting info out there. The FAA study guide for this test ends its paragraph on Class E saying "in most cases, a remote pilot will not need ATC authorization to operate in Class E airspace," so I'm confused as to the requirement you mention... And this FAA page, under Rules for Recreational Fliers, #5, lists "Class B, C, D, and surface Class E designated for an airport" as the air spaces needing authorization (this appears to exclude authorization requirements for Class E airspace other than inside the dashed surface level surrounding an airport?). www.faa.gov/uas/recreational_flyers

In that Savannah question, you said if the tower was at 1200ft AGL and the floor is at 1300ft you won't need authorization, but do you have to be 400 ft above the tower to inspect it or is that just the highest you can go? if you have to be 400ft above that tower then you'll need authorization? What's the purpose of that shaded area if it's still class C airspace.

Hi! Can you explain why you keep saying that you need ATC authorization to fly in Class Echo airspace? The study guide from the FAA (Remote Pilot- Small unmanned Aircraft Systems Study Guide) states under Class E- “ In most cases, a remote pilot will not need authorization to operate in Class E airspace”. Savannah airport you said it’s in E airspace at 1200? Wouldn’t it be E airspace at 700 agl cause of shaded magenta

About that Charlie vs Echo question....I thought you need ATC permission to fly in any airspace regardless of any other factor (excluding G airspace) ?

Hey, on the Savanna question, there is a solid magenta line and a shaded magenta line out there by the tower. Is this an echo space above 700', as well as a charlie space above 1300" or am I reading this wrong? Thanks

In the savanna question is that also echo airspace starting at 700 as well? So the outside ring is both Charlie and echo?

@4:20 when it says 2F7... How do you find that on the map? What do the numbers mean when there's a big number 1 followed by a little number 5, for example.. or like 09, 07.. where the 0 is big but the 9 and 7 are small? Thank you for this!!!

I failed the test because there was a lot of questions that weren’t in my study material. Missed it by 2 questions.

my biggest problem with the supplement book is that the information is so small I can't see it very well at all. I wear glasses and I have had eye exams and they say that my lenses are correct but those legends and charts are just not large enough.

On the Savannah question isn't that area class E from 700 ft and above because of the faded magenta border?

To be fair to the FAA, the qualification is for UAVs, not just what people commonly call drones. Some of these are fixed wing.
