Very nice looking lock. I didnt hear you talk about how quiet it is compared to others, say the August lock. I also need to look at that handle too, thats very nice looking. Did it feel pretty sturdy too?
Good question. It’s definitely one of the more quiet locks that I’ve used. I’ve never used an August lock so I can’t compare directly to that one. Yes, I think the handle is built very well too, just like the lock. It feels like a solid upgrade from what we had.
@@ShaneCreates I have multiple dogs, so thats a high priority for me. Even though they have gotten used to the noise, maybe sounds isnt a huge deal afterall, lol.
Not a fan of the buttons. Looks like something out of the early 90’s. Gotta have Homekey. But the buttons are a deal breaker. Maybe ok for a back door or side door leading somewhere less busy.
Why aren’t makers much interested in making smart door knob locks. That market is very very limited. As of now I only see two options level(very costly) and holomarq
I think level only sells deadbolt replacements, not door knobs or latch style locks. There is also one from Yale available (lever style) and a newer one called ThorBolt. Aqara’s U300 should also become available sometime this year.
The fingerprint reader is intriguing. I used to travel about 500,000 miles per year, meaning tons of international trips. I’ve used Global Entry forever, but their fingerprint readers almost never captured my fingerprints. None of my home based locks capture them either, including the Aqara U100 (I have two of these on the house and neither can read my finger prints). Granted, for the home, I will likely switch over to the near field readers with ios18.
