At first, I honestly thought that was a mall alarm going off when security was confronting the kids. Darn you, Captain.😅 Really enjoyed the video. Made me think of Kennedy Mall in Dubuque, Iowa and how it's not what it used to be. When I was in my 20s I visited Waldenbooks all the time. In my 30s I bought WWE DVDs from Suncoast Video. Good times. Have a good weekend, everyone.
Getting to the Willow Grove mall...$10.00. Walking around the mall $10.00. Kid talking to the Captain and Captain saying No! PRICELESS! Let's go PHILLIES!!!
This is what is happening at most malls around the country. They are afraid of people causing mayhem and they want a safe atmosphere for everyone else, while keeping the young people from wandering around unsupervised, without adults watching over them. I saw an article in the Philadelphia Inquirer where a then-17 year old pointed out in an op-ed last year about the days many years ago (80s) when hanging out at malls was THE thing to do. Now with mall restrictions, tougher rules at the Jersey Shore i e boardwalks etc, she thinks it makes teens feel more isolated, and limits their rights.
The kiosk rental at least for preit is around 1500 a month plus the november december fee. it all depends on what you sell but it could go as much as 5k a month. and if one were to just want the holiday november to december it starts at 20k and up.
That first cotton candy machine looked clean but the second one looked nasty. Kind of disappointed that there was no announcement over the speakers telling kids to get out of the mall NOW!
🤔 Let's see. 40 years ago, what kept us teens out of trouble at the mall ? 🤪 The Video Game Arcade ! ( more specifically, Pac Man. And Space Invaders, Missile Command, Centipede, Pole Position, Donkey Kong, Tron, Galaga, Frogger, Burger Time, Crazy Climber, Mario Brothers, Q*Bert, Defender, Zaxxon, the dollar bill changer et al 😮 ). It was incredible...
Because of flash mobs and looting. I've seen so many videos and news clips of teens going around and rioting and looting stores. Also the bang bang bang! When groups of teens get together. Especially my Black teens. The Whiteboys and Asians just take over streets and do burnouts or races like they did in center city in front of city hall a few weeks ago.
