Wow, just yesterday, I was on Eufy's website looking at their cameras. I remembered your previous video on their product, and now I'm ready to purchase for a house I'll be moving into in October. I'll go back and look again today. I really like their products. I wish the 120° was more. I was also a little leary with customer service complaints, but I will check them out again today. I'm looking to get 5 cameras to cover my house, workshop & property. The solar would work for all but 1 side of the house. That side has 3 very large trees that keep it in the shade all day. Their products are #1 on my list. Thank you for this great review.
Great review Top Homeowner! I want to be as stealth as possible that it's a camera, and I am wondering if the unit would still function if you covered up the flashing blue light? Maybe a tiny piece of black weatherproof tape cut just so it only covered that dang blinking light?
Do you know if you can set it to human only detection, during a particular period of the day? E.g. Human Only detection during 10pm-5am? My TP-Tapo device will detect humans throughout the day, but I can set to be notified only during certain times as I don't want to be notified 100 times a day on my busy street.
We are shopping for new security cameras. I watched your video on the solar light and I just need some help deciding what is the best option for outdoor, plenty of sun year-round to surround our home with video and lights. Would this light work best for that or should I look at some of the eufy cameras???? Help please
This is a good solution. eufy makes some other solar powered cameras, but they aren't really designed to add extra light to an area as well. I also have the S40
I saw another video where it started recording at about 30’/35’ on a clear sunny day. A point that this dude made that isn’t jiving with what other reviewers said is that the wall mount IS NOT yet compatible with the HomeBase, and will remain that way until November. It’s a minor issue in my opinion, nothing an update couldn’t remedy, but still an issue nonetheless. It wouldn’t stop me from buying. But what would stop me from buying is the lag between camera trigger and cellphone notification… it was 13 seconds. That’s super slow, even by WiFi cameras standards. Eufy is notorious slow to begin with, but that’s the price you pay for a no subscription, non-cloud based, WiFi camera system. Again, I’ve accepted that fact. But would I put a slower wall mount style Eufy on my garage in lieu of a quicker, regular style Eufy in the name of aesthetics? Probably not.
