Security personnel blocked roads leading to the airport 

Protesters engaged Security Agencies in running battles as the Kenya Defense Forces and the Police barricaded all Roads leading to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Motorists and Passengers underwent mandatory screening along various routes leading to the Airport. And as Seth Olale reports, the Multi Security Agency which also included plain cloth officers using Un-marked vehicles, intensified surveilance along the Outering Road, Taj Mall Interchange, Eastern By pass, Old Airport Road and a section of Mombasa - Nairobi Highway to keep protesters at bay.
