This siren is mounted on a trailer only six feet off the ground. It is part of a system of five Whelen Vortexes installed to alert residents along Oak Creek of flash floods. This particular unit is located at the entrance of West Fork Trail. At one point this unit was solar-powered; however, I noticed that the solar panel was disconnected and a small yellow extension cord was going into the controller. All other units in this system are mounted on top of fire stations along Oak Creek.
