Since Deb began her current "Montage" piece, many viewers have asked her to explain her creative process. This video is "Deb's chat" about her construct!
Deb's first "tapestry" type piece was done years ago when she stitched the Mystery Sampler disseminated through the "Gift of Stitching" PDF magazine. While stitching this she added her own flair in areas that made the piece hers. This will link you to her "finish" of the piece.

I always enjoy your montage updates. Enjoy your retreat. I will happily send our snow your way, but you have to take the cold temperatures with it. The lows are to be in the negative numbers and the high in the single digits for the next several days.

I love the progress on your Montague. What a fun idea for a tradition of reindeer games. I did something similar to it when my son's birthday landed on Easter and he was into working out. I think I had used easter eggs which told him how many reps for each exercise he had to do, before he could move onto the next clue to get to his present. It was fun.

Absolutely love your montages! I am planning one..gathering ideas. There is no way I can stitch all my patterns. Will gladly send you snow from Missouri but it comes with high winds and subzero temperatures. You should pass on this. Good stitching weather though. Hope the retreat is enjoyable!

Hi Deb, love your montage, I have done the Mary Beale wreath and also did not make a wreath. You are so creative and I think there will be reindeer games in our future Christmas. My question is, I was wondering about the tree display you did last year. I would like to recreate that,but cannot find the display at Hobby Lobby. Can you tell me we’re in the store to look? I’ve been to 2 different stores with no luck. Thanks so much. I really enjoy your videos. Have a great retreat. I’m going to Myrtle Beach for a retreat the first week in February. Deb, not sure if this can be done, but one of those legs should always be facing you, not the 'u'. If one foot faces you it will prevent it from falling forward and seeming top heavy. Just a thought.

Currently live here in Maine but from the Bucks Cty, Pa area so know Stone Harbor, Avalon area well! A stitcher as well. My staircase leading to our second floor is covered in Scarlett Letter samplers

I love watching the progress on your montage. I did a much smaller personalized sampler that I call Georgia Samplings with our state flower, the Cherokee Rose; a crate of peaches; a bucket of peanuts; a Georgia pine; etc. I used the Ultimate Sampler Motifs Source Book for my border and some other motifs. It is such a wonderful resource. Since I use it so much, I took mine to Office Max and had it spiral bound, making it easier to use.

Montage is amazing! So fun to keep the traditional games each year. We started a Holiday Christmas coloring contest when the kids were adults. This year we added the Oreo roll game for $$$ in the cup at the other end of table. We filled 6 cups with condiments & one cup a with $$. They had to eat the Oreo with whatever was in the cup it rolled in. So fun to watch the kids & grands. Happy Stitching & enjoy your retreat! ❤️🪡🧵

I absolutely love your montage. I like your stand in that it expands the cross bar. I have a Hearthside Mark 2 so can easily stitch in my recliner and flips easy too. I wish it had the expandable cross bar though
