it’s really fucking wild to see though because as someone who found it in 2019 it’s always been my little semi-underground album, so to see it get so much attention is jarring but also exciting
It's insane to me that people think it doesn't fit when it literally was made from the motif of Joe's magnum opus that he had been working on in his head for over a decade, and on top of that takes place after the main character of the album LITERALLY GOES INSANE, SO OF COURSE IT HAS SOME TONAL WHIPLASH
The ignorant goddess vs the mad doctor vs the people in pain Edit: im going to publish a book about this and attribute it to this video. Edit 2: I'm finishing up my last year of high school and hope to have more time to write it. If I do ever post it online it will be on Ao3 with an update on this comment.
@@neverxnice3577yeah but im talking about mainstream traction. ive had to actively search for hawaii part ii content for a while so seeing the amount of views this got and the fact that it was recommended to me had me really excited. obviously people have KNOWN about it, just not a lot of people
@@createdfrommoonlight Strange, I replied a few hours ago but now it's gone. Anyway, for mobile, you open a song from your files and click "open on Spotify". From then, you can add it to a playlist. Don't remember how it went for desktop. Hopefully it doesn't get deleted now.
How it feels to watch as your entire friend group slowly forgets about you like you never existed bc you were literally bedridden for 2 months due to cluster headaches
This is so specific but I feel you completely. It’s been 4 years of me randomly being bedridden for months and having to go through losing all of my friends over and over again every time I think I’m better and make new friends I end up bedridden again
@@BublyMilkThe story revolves around a young man, believed to be 18 or 19, called Simon. His name is never stated but it is mentioned in the demos to the album. He sails to Hawaii, referring to the album name. His reason for sailing there isn’t clear but we can assume it's part of his job as a sailor or because he wanted to start a new chapter in his life. There he meets a woman. Her name is never stated. They both fall madly in love and are happy. Until, Simon’s beloved gets murdered in a forest during a date. The reason for the murder is not known but, we do know that she goes to heaven (obviously but there is a whole song based on it-). Simon is blamed for the murder and is put on trial. He tries to plead insanity in hopes of being let off easy but, this only makes things worse. He is sent to an asylum to treat his “insanity”. They treat him with electro shock therapy. This truly drives him insane and his memories are all jumbled up. He is scared and feels like he’s trapped in a labyrinth that he cannot escape. He revisits his memories and wishes he could go back in time to be with his lover. He is finally let out of the asylum, freeing him of his torture. He seems to have forgotten about the death of his lover and sails off to sea to find her. Mentally unstable and unprepared, he becomes lost at sea. He misses his lover so dearly, he hopes they can meet again. We finally get to Dream Sweet in Sea Major. He mistakes the voice of a siren for the voice of his lover and crashes his boat and drowns. He sings about how lovely his lover is going to look and how much time they’ll spend together in one of the sections of the song. In another section, Simon is finally reunited with his lover in heaven and they sing goodbye to the audience. The final section of the song (the instrumental after Bye, Hi. Sigh, Hawaii.) is a bit hard to understand but, I believe that it means that this “happy ending” isn’t as happy after all. Simon did end up with his lover but, he experienced the death of his true love, torture, insanity, loneliness, and finally, death. Every major point of this album is pinpointed to a song. “Introduction to the Snow”, “Isle Unto Thyself”, and “Black Rainbows” set the scene for our story by introducing the characters and location. Simon falling in love is connected to “White Ball". “Murders” shows his lover being murdered and “Space Station Level 7” represents his lover going to heaven. Him being put on trial and being condemned to the infirmary is pinpointed to "The Mind Electric". “Labyrinth” showing his desire to escape and “Time Machine” showing his desire to go back in time. Finally, “Stranded Lullaby” shows how desperate Simon is to find his lover and how lonely he is and “Dream Sweet in Sea Major” shows Simon’s death and him finally reuniting with his lover.
@@Kalverite I can't tell if this is a genuine comment or one that is continuing the reference I was making so I haven't been able to respond for a few hours now.
After reading AwkwardCats comment, i can affirm the following conclusion: I wasn't crazy, i knew who tf owned the voice, and i feel proud of the discovery, but sad that Tally Hall and Miracle Musical circled around us an flew away
Lyrics, 2 months late! Maybe a bit of a mess, sorry about that. [Chorus] See how I circle? Imaginary mind, imaginary lines Let the maze of my design carry you on! [Verse 1] Just bumped my head and my face turns purple Running through hurdles, running in circles Trying to escape from this thing that I fear Everything seems clear like the end is near In the rear, I can see the beast getting close Surrounded by ghosts in a cloud of smoke The smoke reeks of failure, I don't want to fail But all the stairwells lead straight to hell So I'm jumping trap doors in the floor 'fore they floor me Focus on the love and the light right before me Walls keep spinning and my path keeps turning Patience thinning and my calves keep burning Hotter than a furnace, suddenly I'm learning Maybe I finally reached the point of no return and East is North and West is South I feel like I might never get out, I'm trapped! [Chorus] See how I circle (See how the serfs work the ground) [See how I laugh at you] Imaginary mind, imaginary lines (And they give it all they've got, X2) (You'll never understand, No you'll never understand..] Let the maze of my design carry you on (And you give it all you've got, 'Till you're down!) [No you'll never, ever ever understand..] See how I fly (See how the brain plays around) [See how I run from you?] away X8 (And you fall inside a hole you couldn't see) [I'll never, ever ever understand..] (And you fall inside a hole, inside a-)[No, I'll never, ever ever understand..] (Someone help me..) (Understand what's going on inside my mind) (Doctor, I can't tell if I'm not me!) [Verse 2] The light's in my sight But I can't cross these enemy lines I'm behind I can feel the fatigue but I'm dying to shine But the road winds, I rewind, I rewind Got to find a new place to hide for the night Will I ever escape? Boy, I try and I try Everybody's watching me, I'm dying to get out In the glass labyrinth, I am the mouse [Chorus] See how I circle [See how I laugh at you?] [You'll never understand, No you'll never understand..] (I'm trapped) [No, You'll never ever, ever understand..] It's just a game you Play here in this labyrinth maze (I'm trapped) (I'm trapped) (I'm trapped) (I'm trapped) (I'm trapped)
2:19-2:28 was a bit iffy, didn't really match up, but the rest of this was really well put together! i'd recommend you put the links to all the tracks/songs you sampled from in the description however, both to give proper credit and help viewers who may not know where some of these come from. love the video!
HELP THIS MUSIC FITS MY OC (her name is Sakura Kitkat, And she's got manipulated and she's have fears of laugh or idk what it's called and shes have ommetaphobia known as "Fears of Eyes" in her lore and she's begs for help and mercy but she's got chased by her alternative self and she's failed to escape.)
This somehow relates to the entire story of a fan made series from a horror game that I’m making. Edits: I was listening to the lyrics of this and you can see what I mean
