In mass production, even where the ‘line’ is human you must be aware that every step in the production is 1) adding value and 2) definite allocation (your material can no longer be used for something else). You will need to do everything to avoid rework. That is simply waisting time and value. When a stage in the proces is finished treat the product with respect, your fellow workers invested effort in the product, don throw it around, handle with care! We see workers on the buffing wheel. Buffing might be needed, the scratches made by throwing products on the floor can be avoided. For the rest of it. The factory looks clean and looks organised. Good job.

Amazing how so much time is spent in parts handling. Throwing stuff on the floor, then scrabbling around for the next process.

So that's where the dent in my tank came from. The guy that made it, threw it on the ground, 5 seconds later.

I love motorcycle petrol tanks, the shape, the paint, the cap & tap, the internal baffles baffle me at times, the rubber bung housings look like human ears, the locating bolt hole is exactly on the center line. what is there not to like about them I ask you, and to see a man make one so quickly and with such skill is a pleasure watch, if I ever buy a motorcycle petrol tank it will be a MI tank and I know it will be filled with love. . .and then petrol. T;-]

I don't know why, but when they went around the front of the tank with the welder or the cutter - the way they had to spin the tank around was very satisfying. 😊

Great work guys. Somebody spent a lot of money on machinery and tooling. Another video where the boss tries to get his face in and has no idea. He jumped six feet when the spot welder threw out a spark. He had no idea but his ego had to make an appearance rather than just showing the real workers.

Great, but throwing the tank skins across the floor and into other piles of tank skins makes me want to avoid this brand. Lots of nice equipment to do that to the absolute worst piece to throw.

Local and small industry provides jobs and ful fill local needs locally.nice which provides support to society. Nice set up but two things must be adhere. Safety of worker during usage of machines and quality standard of product. Good job.

70 years ago we used build stuff like this in the USA.

I've worked in a metal fabrication shop. The first must is a pair of steel toed boots. These guys don't even have on boots at all, only open toed sandals. In some of those jobs, safety glasses should be worn too.

These guys certainly have dedication for manufacturing these tanks. I’d lose my enthusiasm for such a repetitive job after a week. I suppose their happy just to be in regular employment but I’m glad that in most modern motorcycle factories, machines do all this sort of manufacturing rather than humans.

Some freshly stamped tanks getting dents in them from being thrown onto a pile. lol.

Much respect for these hard working fellas but safety and personnel protection does not appear evident . I wish them luck and good health from down under in Australia

Impressed with the skill level and speed of the employees. Being from an industrial background and in charge of OSHA compliance I can see a lot of potential for fingers and hands to go missing. I know that OSHA is hated by many employers but their job is to provide a safe work environment. The employees have a responsibility to pay attention also. Take a moment to review the OSHA website in the incident report section and you will see why they are needed.

I always like these type of videos, having worked in 'heavy manufacturing' for decades in the U.S. The sad part, is most workers on parts such as this, have no idea what the 'end product' sells to the public for. In this case, I know the 'brand', and to tell them that when it arrives in the U.S. (or Europe), that same fuel tank (with only primer coating on it) will sell for over $500 PER UNIT, and that a custom color or graphic scheme may sell for $1,500 (USD).

Surely each tank needs to be pressure tested for longer than that? I'm surprised that no bubbles appeared around the outlet, the way that guy MIG welded it on.

I'm guessing they are welding up the tanks with the cracks from the form die.

What make and model of bike has this tank fitted or is it an aftermarket tank?

If they wouldnt throw those tanks around, the quality would be much better.... Less dents, less bending makes a tighter fit, better welds and thus a overall better quality.
