as the climate begins to change, glass will no longer be a valid material for an entire building. local materials that are more suited the enviroment and more energy efficent will be needed. the future will look like a combination of the future and of the past.
That would be pretty boring living in a city with all small boxes just because they’re cheaper and easier to make for people to live in instead of them living somewhere cheaper
if all the money was spent on affordable housing then the housing market would crash because all property lost a significant amount of value, making all houses affordable, which would then lead to the newly made affordable houses to be undesirable
It's better than brutalism and the average creatively corrupt post podern ugly box, but its still no where near the beauty of traditional architecture. Urban beauty is a lost technology.
Apparently it's all about national vanity projects. Couldn't help but notice these amazing buildings surrounded by blocks of units/offices with no ascetic appeal. Just boring, depressing blocks that people live and work in, 24/7.
All buildings should ground static energy , be able to have negatively ionised air distribution through out the space and be free of toxic out gassing from the materials. Be independently powered and able to act like an earth-ship with climate regulation and naturally distribute full spectrum light . This should be the foundation of all architectural future design.
It's impossible to predict architecural trends anymore than it's possible to predict clothing fashions in the future. One can imagine the trends, but chances are we'll be wrong.
You really think modern architecture just organically happened? A lot of planning and strategizing goes into ruining cities. Nothings by accident, certainly not architecture or fashion.
nice art. A floating hotel that turns like a minute hand would be cool. But The reality of projects like these is they have mass stairs and a ton of walking to transportation or the stores.
i just realize that fully tower and subterranean city can be 100% or more + sun clean energy design. with no need even nuclear energy. can create diferencies temperature and eat tornados. or heavy blizzards also resist and eat earth shakes. similar acuacity. can be 100% clean energy and 99.99% no intermittences on energy also clean gravitation batteries. tal building make no censes only to be a office. as crypto goes up. it must be clean energy center, also deposits with fly drones, also serves antenas with servers web and finance center management of that resources. small economies goes around the tower related to a chain of maintenance etc. main smart energy resource producer machines.
And then when all light's out no-one remember how to survive. Only the people living in jungles may make it and they may have no knowledge of technology.
I believe more in bamboo and adobe. People are getting really fed up with steel and concrete. The problem with hyper-modern architecture is that it wears out so fast into something very dingy. With 3-D printing elaborate decoration is no longer too costly.
@@smb123211 No, but I am a biological engineer, and people in my field have worked with many organic products to create naturally strong compounds from seemingly unnatural sources. While I don't think it's likely to happen, with how much people are rushing to find an alternative to concrete, I still believe it is a possibility, if a low one.
@@ducdanh397 I wholeheartedly agree! I think we are about to witness products we can barely imagine - like the smart materials that can move, change shape or color. I can envision houses of "natural" materials but not skyscrapers. Then again, I've learned never to say never. At a tech fair (math engineer here) I saw several "visions" - buildings that "grow", materials that harden, enhanced organic materials...

Oh yes, the next gen modern architecture that the public doesn't like and didn't ask for. Within one year, the structures will look weathered, worn, and a blight to the cityscape just like their Bauhaus predecessors. Cities should be designed for humans who live in them, not for psychopaths from far away.
Better that we in future care about those who dont have a lot and that we those people create better conditions for life. And also buildings with GREENS its that what attract me...🍃🌱🌿☘🍀🍂🍁🌼🌺🦕🦋🌍🇭🇷🇪🇺🍇🍌🍓🥦🌽🌲☀️❤
4:03 "will become a 65,000 square kilometer international cruise terminal and city complex" 🤣🤣😅 So you are saying it will become 5 times bigger than greater Tokyo - the biggest city in the world?!? 🤣😂🤣😅 How utterly embarrassing is it to speak on behalf of China or Saudi and you can't even move a decimal to the correct place?!? How could you not even intuitively recognize such a disastrous error?! And that's not even close to your only one!!! hahahah!!
Interesting structures... but little space where human beings to live and would want to be. Nice space to wander around... but no point to the spaces. No homes. We need inexpensive places to live which we human beings can afford. A palace is not needed. Make spaces to house people... which are affordable, and don't continue to rape the people who occupy the spaces. And before spaces like this are justifiable, stop cutting our trees in our forests. Stop the commercialists from cutting down spaces we love and need for our air to breathe. Quit tearing down forests for these kinds of projects... and protect what we already have from commercialization. Put our forest spaces into forever Trusts which can NEVER be cut down. Do this first... then think about these kinds of projects which are basically vanity.
2050? They look exactly like buildings today. And why can't they get someone who actually knows something about arch to narrate rather than this robot?
When will be created online technologies for security and safety online and in real world. Like personalized individual technology for protection from all possible situations and things around and possible risk management future virtual situations and situations. Very often out of this very difficukt to create something like real cities with really good design
Architecture will look the same but probably a lack of vegetation but, nothing much different if we are talking about the United States itself. I would assume China might have it better and even Europe in my opinion though I see it looking the same. Remember our world used to look more like a boons and dirty so maybe traffic or transport will be the main priority and housing. So it will not impact things too much but, will improve the public areas and traffic and housing but that is it.
but the Chinese themselves prefer post-card village-like construction along rivers or on mountains, together with a few panoramic high-rises but not only high-rises. Just check for where they love to go on vacation and build that way.
