Very good review Dave. You did a good job of covering the pros and cons on this unit. One thing I really love about it and would love to see if I liked is the wide viewing area for the eyes. It looks like that would be great. I like that it records video too. I do see some room for improvement but overall it looks like a solid unit.

Looks cool, but I need a clear image at night of Devil Dogs. For me shot placement is everything. If I can't do it ethically and fast I don't squeeze. Thanks for the review though Dave.

i wrote a book and lost internet connection and hit reply and it disapeared so i am going with the short version this time i got a orpik version of this unit, its the exact same thing. there is a lot to like the 20x optical zoom is why i bought this, and the fact that you can focus the IR there are two things that are very very bad about this unit imo: 1 in NV mode, you cant turn off the IR. sometimes i want to use the ir filter because that is all you need and dont want to use the built in IR lights, this could be for many reasons. the only way i found to still be in nv mode and have the IR light off, is if you use the timer for the IR. the minumun is 3 minutes, so then you can use the IR filter and not broadcast your IR light. 2 the ir light is not very adjustable, its basically in spot light mode and then you can adjust it to be an even tighter spot light. it doesnt allow for a flood light to say look at things within 150 feet or so. so it puts a super bright white light on the screen which ruins the image imo. the adjustment they give for this is terrible my nightfox swift 2 pro went the other direction and its not adjustable and its basically a flood light, so its good for closer things. so now i have two units, one for up close stuff, and one for farther away, it would be nice if i could have just one model that did both

What do you estimate the battery life would be on one new set of batteries? Also, out to what yardage can you watch wildlife with clarity? For example: Your in your treestand well before morning. You hear something in the distance, how far out can you look with clarity and good definition? I would want to know if the bucks are moving thru a area before first light or if it's just some doe's. Also, one place i hunt, there's way too many hogs. That would help on accessing how many. Great review, thanks Dave
