I watched this movie with my Mom when I was a little girl in WI. We both thought it was really scary. Next week I will be traveling from TX to visit her (she is now 93 but still very sharp), and I will suggest we watch it again together. Thanks for posting.
Amazing that your mom is 93! Our mothers are truly a treasure in our lives. May you have a safe flight to Texas and I hope you have a wonderful time with your mom.
@@TheVidkid67 I meant it would be better than any remake. I’ll correct my typo, I did see people reacting to a movie with the same name which was all that it had in common with this one.
It might never been remade but they have a few similar movies where the lead character is blind and has to out think a killer who stalking her. Like Hush (2016) & Wait Until Dark (1967).
Mia Farrow is such a great actress & star! Wow! Amazing acting! I never once thought she wasn't blind. My heart was racing the whole second half of the movie! Very nailbiting 😊😊❤
.Bc we are bombarded with junk from today's narrative that's why maybe..I'm 58 live old movies watched alot with my mom n dad and learned to appreciate them.loved not lived
What a spectaculair performance from Mia Farrow. This is the first time i've heard of this movie and i'm quiet pleased with it. The entire cast did great. A must watch indeed.
After her divorce from Frank she married the British guy Andra Priven she lived in England and did some British films. Another one check out The Haunting of Sarah.
I can't believe it! I watched this movie years ago when I was a young girl. It terrified me because you never saw the killers face, only his boots. I've been trying to find it these last few years as a 66 year old and could never find it no matter how many tries on google with different words, And here it is, on your channel for free! i can't say thank you enough!!!!
Im watching this from Australia. Im 64 and watching it by myself. My australian cattle dog just left my bed, he is not a fan , I dont know what my mother who is 88 is watching, I've not seen her for decades. Mia Farrow was not only vulnerably fragile but poetictically intelligent. Thank you so much for sourcing this very 70's movie.
*Perth here.* I remember not being allowed to watch this on the telly when I was a kid because my mum said it was too scary. I had a friend staying over and we watched it thru the crack in the door. Mum was right, my friend and I ended up sleeping in the same bed that night and we couldn't sleep! Mum's do know best!
Yes I just found this but I kept searching for it’s other title blind terror not that I haven’t seen it in years I have it on dvd but it’s got this title on the dvd it’s one of my favourites
I hope, this film makes us appreciate things we take for granted, like being able to see. Close your eyes for a couple of minutes and try to navigate your way around the room. Then, open your eyes and try to describe the joy of your vision returning instantly. What life must be like for people who can't see, I can't even imagine. It probably depends if one was born blind or became blind later on in life. I wish all blind people were given more help. It makes me so sad when I started to think about their daily difficulties. 😢❤
Speak for yourself. I'm so grateful for my eyesight. Quit assuming that people take it for granted. I DON'T take it for granted, or anything else that allows me to be independent. How dare you assume!
I spent a whole week blind To train to work at a deaf and blind school in England It was horrid, and hard and unbelievably Awakening. I know what you are talking about And unless you experience not being able to see🙈, you cannot fully appreciate your sight..... Developing the inner 👁️ is very necessary Thank you for your comment 🙏
@E-Kat I used to do it when I was a kid and automatically opened my eyes and thought to myself how terrible that must be....they can't even know what their own mother and father look like.
@@tamzenkarma oh, that you for letting us know what an amazing thing you did. I never even thought about these training schools, didn't know they existed. It must've been so hard and for me it would have been really frightening. Just thinking about it gives me a little panic attack. How really brave of you to take this on. It's good to remember that people like you are around us, only we don't realise that. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this world a better place. When I think about you and what you do, I don't feel so lonely. ❤️🥀🤗
The setup to the 37 min bombshell ..brilliant. beautiful quality of film too really miss that era of film quality. The colors and the blacks are almost painting like love it
"If Mia Farrow will play the lead, we'll buy it." (ColumbiaPictures). That's the reasons, why you can watch this first class thriller. Thank you for this upload. She's one of my favourite stars, by the way. ❤
When i was about thirteen years old, i watched most of this movie late at night while babysitting alone in a house way out in the country! We didn't have a TV at home, so i didn't see many movies, and remember being petrified. 🙀 I always wanted to see the ending but couldn't remember the name and here it is again! Excellent and convincing acting for sure. Thanks!
I have waited patiently to look at this again. AKA 'Blind Terror', & it's most certainly that, this movie has stuck with me for a very long time. Many thanks for the upload 👍. Those unfamiliar with its gruesome details are in for one hell of a treat!
I saw this movie when it came out and I was 11 or 12 years old. This movie was scary as hell to me then and not easy to keep my eyes open during a good part of it.
I Love This Movie! The British House & Scenery was Spectacular! And Who Else but Mia Farrow could give this kind of Emotion to it all? Made in 197, when they still made Good Movies, makes it all the Better! WELL Worth The Watch!
I have been waiting years to find this anywhere. I looked in other streaming sites and nothing then I kept looking on here and nothing! Till right now and I saw this film when it first came out in theaters and I thought it was so well made!
Iconic ❤ thanku..l watched this when l was a teen accidentally one night... ment to be in bed asleep..it truly is a lill gem 💎..lm 48 now n watching it for the 5th time
The 70’s had some great (and nasty) movies and this is one of them. A taut, lean thriller that is extremely well made and acted. I will never forgot those cowboy boots….. PS: I always wondered if those movies showing at the cinema at the beginning were real because they sound exactly like something from the 70’s. They aren’t. Just made up for this film.
Mia Farrow made for the role. Steve her boyfriend the guy from TV comedy George and Mildred much younger in this. Have not seen this version only the remake. Lovely setting and beautiful horses. Many thanks really good movie.
Saw this in the late 70s on TV when I was living in England. It was called Blind Terror; a better title in my opinion. So glad it is offered here. It was a scintillating movie and viscerally chilling - great film. Thank you for posting this gem! Don't know why Gene Wilder and Richard Prior are hashtagged.....
Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor were mistakenly advertised as there's a film of the same or very similar title with them in main roles. Try to find it as it's truly very amusing. I hope this helps. 😊
The scariest person in this film is the gypsy 'mother' figure...eeks! Slaps her, tells her to cry and then tries to calm her down by saying, Ssshhh... talk about conflicted empathy.
She was very good here. The actress playing the aunt also appeared as one of the nuns in The Nun's Story, 1959. And the theme song (not the intro version) is nice too.
Thank you for sharing this terrifying thriller.! It's been decades since I've seen it and I was only a kid in the late 70s, when I first saw it on tv. This film was called 'Blind Terror', when it was released in Australia. Mia Farrow and Norman Eshley were brilliant in this movie. I always enjoyed watching Norman in the comedy series George and Mildred, as the sarcastic toff 'Mr Fourmile'. He's such a talented, yet underrated actor.
This film was directed by Richard Fleischer, son of famed animator Max Fleischer. Richard Fleischer has also directed The New Centurions (1972) and Soylent Green (1973).
At 7:35-7:36, I see she's wearing her granny gown, with red tights underneath. It reminds me of when my daughter was little, I sometimes put her in that type of nightgown, with her red tights underneath too, and a pair of black little ballet slippers to go with it. I always dressed her up like a doll. So Im glad that Im not the only one with that same idea.
Thanks so much for posting this movie. What a treat to stumble across it. First saw it, as a kid, in the ‘picture theatre!’ Yes, I’m ‘old!’ Lol. Have always remembered it but unfortunately never found it to watch again. Just as good second time around. Much appreciated, cheers!👍🏻🇦🇺
I've never seen a Mia Farrow film but this was absolutely outstanding! The tension throughout the film kept me on the edge of my seat. Very well acted without being overdone, I'll be recommending this movie to my family!
Great movie, typical 70s use of build up and atmosphere, reminds me of the Thriller tv series in the 70s and Fear In The Night starringJudy Geeson and Ralph Bates. Mia Farrow and Norman Eshley are great in this ( as is everyone) Thank you for uploading.
I saw this one at 14 when it came out. It'sTruly a superb thriller. Mia's performance was amazing, although they should've glazed over her eyes to make her look blind. Just like Miss Farrow, I stepped on a chunk of broken glass and got several stiches. OUCH! That really hurt!
Most blind people do not have “glazed over” eyes. I certainly have normal looking eyes, (blind from glaucoma). The two main causes for blindness do not result in eyes looking “glazed”. There are lots of different causes of blindness. We don’t all look the same.
Thanks great movie. Mia Farrow was supurb in this . Brian Clemens was a big name in British TV in the 70's and 80's, as well as the persuaders he wrote a lot of one off thrillers and dramas. Paul Nicholas will be familar to UK viwers as a 70,s pop star and star of co-star of a great sit com roamnce called 'Just good friends',
Don' t even acknowledge anybody at the door. If you know your friends etc. no need. I never do. Rot on the porch but the door stays shut if you are a stranger. 😊🇨🇦🙋🏻♀️
I went blind about seven years ago and I’ve never had any issues walking around in my own home!. I live on my own, do my own cooking and gardening and I have no problem at all walking around normally in the places I know.
What a great suspense scary movie.. there was another movie too it was called wait until dark starring Audrey Hepburn she was blind in that movie too. Wow I was just 6 years old in 1971 😮😂.
I just finished watching this movie. It is probably the best movie I have seen in a very long time. It held my attention the whole time and I managed to get no where with the kitting I was going to work on while watching. Plus no profanity or nudity.
So, he was envious of the wealthy family? Maybe had a thing for Sandy? Was upset because they put the horse down? The care taker wasn’t too convinced that the horse broke a leg.
