Seeding dry green peas on our ranch in Montana. We start out by using the New Holland 9282 4wd tractor to pull the melroe toolbar to loosen up the soil after a winters rest. The New Holland then pulls a roller that we rented to break up any remaining clods, and to level ridges caused by the sweeps on the toolbar. We seeded the crop with a John Deere 7700 mfwd tractor that was pulling a 750 no-till drill. We have used it to no-till, but the conditions this spring were more favorable to seed into already worked ground. We sprayed a pre emerge burndown to kill any weeds that were not killed by the toolbar.
