Steve Willey it’s 2 different yards they screwed up and over seeded the st aug with rye grass I’m trying to get the rye grass out of the st aug and push the warm season grass to grow
I am looking at my tall fescue grass and it looking real bald headed right now. I am about to put Malorganite. I gotta try something. I am right there with you.
The Grass Factor I thought u would get a kick out of this one😁 I would think the ryegrass could tolerate more msm than the st Augustine could so I had kinda ruled that one out in my head ... what do u think?
smast 16 it’s a good shot in the dark ! I like it I’m going to have to find some local... and get it done pretty soon , I think it only kills baby crabgrass, like what I have here 👍🏻
I have spots in my yard that require more water and show stress faster than the other places in my yard. Why is this, and what should I do to change this. After a good rain or watering it will be fine for about 3 days then back to looking very dry. Think everyone has those spots and could make a good video. Thanks and keep putting them out and I will keep watching
Can you perenial rye grass with tall fescue? I'm seeding tall fescue in summer in tasmania. It's about 65F for a few weeks. I'm hoping to get some establishment and then fill in the spots coming autumn.
Jonny Glover here in the south we do not ... areas to the north where the summers not as hot it is done often. The problem with it is it stresses more easily in summer heat and will also start to effect your Fescue
I live in Charlotte NC and am unfamiliar with seeding. A landscaper cleared my old lawn and seeded it with Tall Fescue on May 28 of this year. It's coming in patchy and when I asked a sod company yesterday what I could do, I was advise the Fescue would not survive the heat of the Summer. They suggested I cut the lawn shorter and add Bermuda seed, which will grow in the Summer. Or, I can sod over it with any grass type, including Fescue. My lawn is roughly 9000 sq. feet. Can you provide any recommendations to keep the costs down, yet still give me a green and healthy lawn? Thank you.
If it is a sunny lawn Bermuda would work well. Or if you are in love with fescue seed it in the fall. Fescue would require fungicide in the summer and irrigation. A good Bermuda seed would cost more upfront but be far less upkeep in the future.
Dang man, this is that old video I seen awhile ago where you phoned Matt on the rye smoking that dudes lawn, but I didn’t remember the 10 bags of milorganite part of this video…..isn’t that the same house I’m thinking it is? Like back when you first took it over? The one where the dudes got the buried dog fence cable? I’m like wait, I swear I know this street
Hey my guy, I started a complete tall fescue job in my yard 1200 sq ft area on may 6th 4 days ago.. im also in NC in the fay area.I prepped and did everything I'm supposed to do. Seed is down and has been properly watered..I DO NOT HAVE IT COVERED HOWEVER ASIDE FROM SOME LAWN SOIL IN A FEW UNEVEN PLACED. I'm having hesitations now about germination because in seeing all these videos about planting fescue in the spring summer months is tough. DO I NEED TO COVER IT AND IF SO WITH WHAT AND ALSO HOW MUCH WATERING AHOULD I BE DOING
@@PaulsPrimeCuts thanks... last question in some spots where it looks like the seed isnt in contact enough ,should I retake those areas with a hand rake 5 days after the fact or just let it be?
I did one on April 10th I’ll try to put in a video… also did a small back yard yesterday that was just cleared out sometimes you got to do what you gotta do
I didn't know you could spray grass that has gone dormant....I think I had a bunch of rye grass In my St.Aug this spring,at least that is what everybody told me. I tried different herbicides but no results .I thought it died out when the temps got high but I think it did what you said about it going dormant because I have dead spots where the rye was...Plus I'm dealing with fungus.
i just seeded one tall fescue............ used top soil and hay.............. aloot of work but main thing is guy has a irradiation system thats main reason why its growing
spin 04 this one has made it . its full of weeds , I made an attempt to go after the crabgrass with about 60 percent success... we are going to hold off now and I’m going to hit it hard with speed zone about the first of September give it a few weeks and over seed
Paul's Prime Cuts I figure most summer weeds will die in fall anyways might as well focus on new growth then preventive maintenance for the following season.......
Steve Willey do you hate George Bush , Bush beer ,Bush the band ... all things Bush . I think I made it clear not my maintenance accounts just trying to fix the grass for another company...they have about 400 accounts I will pass on to him that a guy named Steve on the internet doesn’t approve of their work
Steph Fong the weed control was fine ... that lawn started in the summer didn’t do very well ... in my area (eastern North Carolina) fall seeding is the best way to have success. I came back that fall and seeded the yard properly, and it is a great lawn now. That was about 2 years ago
You missed the part where I said a company that I fo some spraying for seeded a Fescue lawn in the summer and they asked me to try to help them fix it .... it doesn’t work at all in my area epic fail, total waste of money
Scott K I put Celsius on the St. Augustine yard Monday and a massive dose of fert just wait and see now. Going to hold off on spraying the Fescue yard for a week or 2 going with quincloraic
Thanks selling the house trying to get some cover for the new owners dont want to leave them a mess either like rye grass. Would love to add 2 inches of topsoil and maybe centipede but I dont have the time.
derrio gray I assume the Fescue yard... that was a thought... I used quincloraic worked ok ... we are going to hit that one hard before the fall overseed and be good to go
Scott K yeah I think I have them understanding that this has a low chance for success.. but I will do everything I can , going to spray it with potassium hydroxide as well
