If he’s claiming not to have used autotune, he probably doesn’t realize that his producers pitch-corrected his voice. Autotune doesn’t change someone’s voice and still sound natural, it just helps smooth out the mistakes.
This is a pet peeve of mine, when people are talking about singers who use auto tune they mean to the point where it’s no longer their voice. In some cases producers do not use auto tune though they use, Perfect acoustics, taking the perfect sections of multiple recordings, and layering. This has a more significant impact when comparing the singers vocals to the original. In this case his voice is so close to the original it’s possible he did not use auto tune, instead the above options.
I thought It's not auto tune if the producers 'manually' pitch corrected his voice, that just how Studio Version created which is smoothen the pitch :/
By the sounds of it it’s pitched corrected and has a bunch of effects on it which is fairly standard these days; nothing to feel some type of way about. He can still sing and it’s clearly his voice.
I know right?! it's weird how that happens with some people. I have a friend whose voice is pretty deep but sings these high notes that I can barely reach and I'm a soprano.
oh my god, they are superimposed voices, he sang twice in different tones and they put one on top of the other, that gives this amazing effect to the music! And it has nothing to do with autotune, it's the same voice doing different tones
Some people dont know that when you are in studio, there may be multiple "takes". So, you can get a more desired and perfected sound for the recording. Live still can sound amazing but may not be identical to the audio that made it on the official track.
The guy has a nice voice, but the studio version has a lot of layering, reverb and probably some pitch correction to perfect some mistakes. And there's nothing wrong about it. It's production.
Damn Kushner should be used in music classes like ear training. Itveould be dope to learn using such an original performer to hone iyr own craft. I thought he used autotune as well.
oml auto tune is a system to enhance your voice and make it sound right at the right time. while he uses voice stacking. Basically you sing the song in many different tones/pitches and put them together
i think most Artist use pitch correction because nobody has always the perfect pitch evertime of the day and instead of doing it over and over again just to perfect the pitch and tone it's easier to just pitch correct it on post
Using autotune isn't a bad thing its just when you base your entire sound on it is when its trash. I think there was some pop artist in the 2000s that used autotune on all of his vocals and that gave it bad name. But using it at all doesn't make you a bad artist. Its not like using an electric saw makes you a bad carpenter, its just a tool.
