I am always saying WE GOT THIS in real life and online. We all have our own struggles and I believe we can get through anything together. When I was diagnosed with cancer in September, I thought this was my own struggle but I realised my cancer has affected everyone around me. I am a daughter, a girlfriend, a sister, a friend, a cousin, a grand daughter & more. I know my journey has affected everyone around me and I know now more than ever that I have no choice but to get better. Whatever life throws at us, we are going to get through it together. We Got This

It will look better over time. I think everyone feels grief over scars left from cancer surgery, ports, etc ... Very normal to feel that way. Of course you are thankful to be alive, but not being thrilled with the scars is very normal. 💙💙

It looks like there are some stitches in your arm and still bruising, of course. I'm assuming they'll just dissolve on their own. Tiffany, you're probably still grieving for the loss of the way your body was and the way you imagined your future would be. It certainly doesn't mean you're not grateful. It just means some huge changes were thrust upon you and your mind is still in the process of accepting it all. Keep reminding yourself of the warrior you are. 💙

@helengarrett6378 Год назад
Oh come on, Tiffany, what a liitle boo boo! You are allowed to be, do or say anything you want, but that scar is going to be totally insignificant. It's puckered now from stitches but the bruise will fade, the skin will relax and the scar itself will just be a line and will fade too. Every woman who had a cesarean section baby has a much bigger scar. Every athlete eventually has worse than that. I have several scars in obvious places just from living and since I got old with very thin skin, my arms are loaded with lots of scars from my skin splitting open repeatedly just because I have touched something slightly rough, brushed a wall with a bumpy texture or snagged my skin on a zipper. Anything tears my arms! This is not to say you whine or complain a l ot. No, that's not it. And I don't mean to say you aren't allowed to feel how you feel. I do want you to know absolutely that life leaves its marks. You are going to have marks in places you never anticipated for less reason than removing a port or a pic line. You might as well forget about getting away as pristine as Ella is now. It won't happen. Physical scars are not gorgeous but none of yours are astonishing. Emotional scars are much worse. They don't fade as easily. We carry them around for a long, long time and some we take to our final end. Your cancer has left you with deeper emotional scars that do not show. We normal people don't run around in society or even at home with our intimate loves ones with our angers, fears and pain hanging out for all to see. Those scars come to the surface on occasion and then we bury them until they come up again. In your case, i think you are mourning unblemished skin in place of mourning missing organs. Those internal scars are what has made your life different. You can still dress up, put on your makeup and go dancing, you can go to concerts and plays. You have traveled. You function comparatively well and nobody you meet turns away politely as though you are missing something obvious like an ear or a finger or worse. I think that your obsession with skin perfection might be misplaced concern about the major surgery you have had. Would you worry about a few scars if you could get rid of the stoma? I think not. Would scars on your neck or arms matter if you could have three little Astons or Ella's? I think you might not worry about those scars if you could be all you once were. Tiffany, I'm not saying to forget about it. I am saying that you have every right to mourn body changes but I don't think you are expressing your anxiety and disappointment in the right places. You are allowed to grieve your losses but don't fool yourself into thinking some little things blemish your beauty. They aren't significant. Nobody notices. Nobody is pointing and whispering, " look at that poor unfortunate girl with tiny scars on her arms and neck. The only real external manifestation of cancer right now is your stoma. Only your healing bum and that you have still got some strengthening to do to bring your energy level back reveals the strenuous challenges that you have met and coped with pretty well. Now, give yourself the right to grieve your medical and deep emotional challenges and you won't worry about little stuff. When you really accept the new you it won't be a line under your arm that you have come to terms with. That isn't the real issue. Now, tell me off if I've angered you. But I don't think you will if you think about it. It might bring some sadness to the surface, but that's the real issue not the boo boo under your arm or the nearly invisible thing on your neck. The stoma bag is hidden by clothes. It's probably the deep scars that have changed you the most and the that's what is maybe really bothering you. You are allowed to feel and grieve. Just put it in the right place and do the hard deep work of accepting a hard row to hoe. You have done well, now do it all.
@jeanroth159
@jeanroth159 Год назад
You may mean well by posting what you did but to me it sounds just alittle harsh. Tiffany will mourn what you think she should when and if she is ready,as of now she is dealing with her external scars and that is quite alright,as a cancer surviver myself I've come to the realization that their is no right or wrong way to feel after going through such a traumatic journey. I mean no disrespect but Tiffany being the sensitive lady she is I just felt your comment was alittle much.✌️

Cheryl here.! Why do you keep saying, "Im allowed"? Its a tiny scar. On the scale of things that you have been thru, that little scar should b the least of your plethora list of things "you're allowed" to fret about. Sometimes its an effort to watch your videos. I can not believe that you are so accepting of your doctor(s) for NOT telling you your results yet! Ive never, ever had to wait more than 48 hrs for results, never, ever! The doctors KNOW most cancer patients are on "pins and needles" waiting for the results and try their darndest to let their patient know ASAP. What has it been, almost 2 weeks, 3weeks, thats unacceptable, in my opinion. ...im sure I will get targeted for posting my opinion or blocked, but that will prove something, right?

I think you learned a lot in this video. I think you learned that there are some reminders of the journey you have been on to fight that cancer and to win. You were brave to take off the bandage and look but the reminder you saw was not nice to you and I think that made you sad. You are wise to allow yourself to feel sadness. The one thing you may not know is that your blog viewers do not expect you to be always happy and always positive. You don't have to give us a positive, cheery Tiffany because sometimes you may have a time when you don't feel like that. We care for the Tiffany that you are, we don't need a film version of 'ooh, here is Tiffany, a movie star who is always happy for us.' We care about the you that you are, whatever that is.

Hi Tiffany, I discovered you and your You Tube channel a short time into your cancer journey, subscribed immediately, and have watched every video since. I have also watched, I think, all your previous videos, going back nine years. I think you are the loveliest and most inspirational person and your bravery and courage throughout your utterly gruelling treatment, should be an example to us all. I had surgery and radiotherapy leading up to last Christmas for breast cancer and I am so relieved to now be cancer free. My journey was a walk in the park compared to yours, you are truly amazing. Having just watched your latest video in which you bravely try to tell yourself that your scars are fine, I really felt for you and want to say that yes, you are allowed to be upset. You have earned that right with everything you have been through on your journey. I think for those of us fortunate enough to have a successful outcome and be cancer free after treatment, we feel we have no right to be upset about anything, and whilst we are so grateful to have beaten cancer, we are also entitled to feel sad about what it has done to us sometimes. So be sad Tiffany, without guilt, it is 100 percent natural and as I said, you have so earned that right. With love and support to you always, Tracey K xxxxx

What brand of bagels did you have with your breakfast sandwich? Your scars don't define you! Your sleeves will cover it. It will heal! You're doing amazing 6 months after major surgery. You're doing amazing well. The scars will heal&flatten out. Just be cautious of the sun&heat. I went thru ovarian cancer at 25yrs old. I have a genetic disorder(inherited)&it's a new journey(diagnosed 2008). I was a middle/high school math teacher for 25+ Years job I loved&miss. I did hospice care as my volunteer work&then took care of loved ones&was fully trained&certified. I did it for years&feel strongly that God never shuts a door without opening a window!

You are allowed to process the grief of the loss of your old body. The scar will diminish in time and be just a small line.

It's such a small scar and barely noticeable under your arm.. Vanity at the moment should be the least of your worries. Xx.

'Vanity' to process the changes her fight against cancer has brought her? Don't be silly.

@@strawberry1025 Didn't mean to sound silly or demeaning. She has gone through so much, and I was just taken aback re her worries over a little scar. X

Beautiful Tiffany, First thank you for being so open and sharing so much of your life with all of us💙. look at your scars as an honor they got you where you are now. You’re a true warrior!!! I wear mine with pride. I have many big scars all over my abdomen my inner arms like you as well, I truly admire you Tiffany. Your such a trooper and so inspiring. I truly wish I could be half as brave as you are. The skin will relax over time you’re still healing from the inside out. When I was allowed I would rub my scar with coconut oil to prevent a big keloid scar. Sweet Amma she’s so beautiful with such a glow about her now🥰. Hope you Matt and Amma have a wonderful blessed Thursday!! Love you lots!! WE GOT THIS!!! 💙💙💙☑️☑️☑️💙💙💙
