brenme35 It is God’s desire that you know what His good and perfect will is for your life. In that He desire that you live out your will. I believe He will reveal it to you. I pray God gives you discernment in all relationships and that he keeps you far from those who do not mean you well and instead that He would surround you with loving and kind people

This is a great question Rebecca, and I honestly think we have heard God speak to us in many different ways. When you read scripture we see examples of God speaking through fire, darkness, clouds, etc., but one of the first ways is through prayer and fasting. During this time it is important to feed on the word of God so you can hear and identify what God is saying to you through His word. Prayer is a conversation and there are times when we have to quiet ourselves so we can hear God clearly. There is also a practice called Lectio Divina. You can find the details of it on Wikipedia or online. It is a way to read scripture, pray and meditate. I have recently started this practice and I find it extremely helpful when discerning God's voice. I hope this helps you. The beautiful thing is that if you desire to hear from God and you want direction for your life, God will order your steps. God bless you !!
ByHisLove Thank you so much for your comment. The word says if anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives to all liberally and without reproach. I would pray for wisdom when it comes to your purpose. In terms of direction, you have to trust that your steps are ordered. Even when you don't know which way you are going, God does. I believe that it is God's desire that we all walk according to His perfect will and purpose for our lives. Keep seeking Him for it and He will reveal it to you... Someone once said that there is a question that we have all been placed on this earth to answer. once you identify the question your purpose is revealed in providing the answer.
