Rebel Assault plays fine on Sega CD (60 fps!). The backround lags are the result of limited Sega CD hardware. The GFX are far away from the original PC-Version, but the gameplay still works great on the Sega CD!
"Bla bla bla ... there are three TIE Fighter!!! ... Theyre firing !!! ... AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH !!!!" I love this part! =)

I had this on PC and it absolutely pissed me off lol. After crashing and burning within 30 seconds of the first stage, it later took me months to beat that third stage. From there it wasn't that bad, but it took me a looooong time to beat this. What a game this was back in the day.

Pretty good CG for a 128-color palette! The recycled music, however, is completely out of place and off-theme. At least they tried to make it fit.

There was a CD-ROM expansion released for the Sega Genesis Megadrive. It allowed games to make use of added storage for animations, video, audio files etc but also included some extra hardware for sprite scaling etc.
