As someone born in the 90’s I can’t tell if this is a sick burn or if you really don’t know that this is like… the 40’s. Edit: I mean the style of dance. We know the music is from the 80’s, and the people are from now. But we definitely did not dance like this in the 90’s.
These chaps are having a great time! They seem to be dancing so naturally & effortlessly, getting further into the groove with each beat. I love seeing folks having a grand time. 😍 A few of the men are really outstanding 👏👏👏
Ppl, stop your generation bashing! This is a relatively new video. Around 2019. And this man is "Stephen Sayer is a dancer/instructor who is dedicated to preserving the great American partner jazz dances of the 1920s-1950s. Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Steve began dancing in 1998 at the age of 16. In 2011, Steve and his partner Chandrae Roettig won first place at the National Jitterbug Championships and the US Open Strictly Lindy Hop divisions. In 2012 he was inducted into the California Swing Dance Hall of Fame. Today Steve teaches in North Hollywood and has started the California Jubilee performance teams. His focus on connecting to partner and music are what makes his dancing and teaching so unique..."
This is long gone now all we can do is admire how it used to be long ago. But there are people who actually still dance like this we just hardly ever see them. Such a beautiful dance. ❤
From how they are dressed, how they dance, the joy in their faces most definitely speaks loudly that the past generation had a lot more class and respect for themselves than today's generation. Such a positive video.
More than the class dancing..... even classier is the happiness on the faces of these people having a good time! The millennials and subsequent generations will never have such elegance and sense of occasion. Lovely dancers... all of them. My vote goes to the person who pointed the finger towards the sky.
Really? This is Stephen Sayer a dancer/instructor who is dedicated to preserving the great American partner jazz dances of the 1920s-1950s. His focus on connecting to partner and music are what makes his dancing and teaching so unique.
You're exactly right. He does no extra foot and leg movements which heightens the illusion that he is floating. The guy in white is working too hard on his foot work (and enjoying it). That's good but black pants guy is king of effortless smooth.
If you examine the individual's motions you clearly see the guy in white is the most coordinated creative and timed. Others are good but he is EXCEPTIONAL
I wish we still had community dances like they did back in the 20s and 30s and such. They all dressed up like these people and they danced like this. It would be so fun to do!
To see these young people dressing so classy gives me hope for the next generation. No yoga pants. Men dressed like men. And women dressed like women. Amen.
Not the 80s at all. The guy in Greg is a dance instructor named Stephen Sayer who specializes in dance from the 1920s-1950s. This was a boogie. They just added an 80s song to the clip.
@@guinness9980 The two in front immediately brought to mind that dance routine with Donald O'Connor, Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds and Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire? Loved all those big numbers in those old movies.
This gem comes from West Germany 1986 and I am getting really emotional because I have totally forgotten about it over the decades. Let's say I was "very young" when this was blasting from our cassette player back in the day! Nostalgia is the happiest and the saddest feeling at the same time! ❤ And now I wanna know how to dance like this!!! 😎
I'm 77yro 💃🏽 granny *g* >> from Phils 🇵🇭 Luzon region ..CALABARZON ( Cavite province ) .. Stephen Sayer has Unique Great moves Classy Body language🕺. I LIKE IT❗👏👏 Feb 18/2024 sunday 8:42am
