Dammit I need a season 2. I doubt the anime had enough of an audience to get a season 2 tho. The ending just screams "read the source material" to me. I really hope I'm wrong and there's another season

I am reading the novels and Richard gives such BL vibes (while subtle) so far even in vol 2. But I read in a later vol Richard kisses his cheek (the england arc) and in vol 9 Seigi ask Richard on a romantic date, and they seemingly discuss future potential as a romantic pair. So it very well may be a slow burn BL with Seigi being bi/pan.
