Thanks a lot, I did it myself when I got it couple months age and wanted to shorten the braclet. And I did it but I forgot to put pin inside and there was a little gap between links so now after carefuly watching this after 10mins of strugle without equipment I did it and it feel so great on wrist. Thanks mate you saved me ❤️❤️

My father gave me his Seiko ref. 7019-8250 in 14K plated gold/gold-filled. It's dated to 1973 with the Arabic Day Wheel. My uncle did a stop-over flight from Saudi Arabia and picked the watch up at a Seiko shop at the Airport. These used to be so popular there. It's really hard to find one just like it, so seeing a sort of "refresh" for the model is really nice. Would definitely pick a few up and gift them to my uncle and father.

I've got the silver version of this watch I was impressed with it might get this gold one also. Get the watch out in daylight to appreciate what Seiko offers for the money

I have the silver dial snk355, put on a milanese and it looks fabulous. This gold one is also very beautiful, will have to pick up one of these. It also comes in a black dial but not to keen on that one. I love seiko 5s. Despite their outdated movement and dodgy bracelet, they are still beautiful classy and elegant. Get them before they disappear.

Any plan to make that a futur project, so I can follow along your video? 😉

I've got an snkl23 I want to upgrade with a nh36 movement and sapphire crystal. The only thing is it'd be a bugger to wind with the original crown so I'd definitely be interested in that future video. These old 5's are bit neglected on the modding scene so I'd like to see them get some love. How about it? Cheers mate.

Yeah, the SNKL23 is a beautiful little watch! I have another cheap build I did that I could swap the NH36 from with the SNK366. I may do that in a future video.

I don't understand why people prefer the Seiko without the 5 or the Orient without the 2 lions holding the shield... it's like Rolex without the Crown or the Bulova without the tuning fork (you know, the cheap Bulovas, with the Myiota quartz movements).

I bought a a Seiko like this over 27 years ago. It was my first watch, the old ones were made in Japan. I use to wear it everyday for a couple of years, unfortunately the second hand broke off. I forgot what I did with it after that. I love the timeless design. The old ones did not have the invisable back. It is a timeless design. My Japanese GF at the time said "Ojisan mitai" looks like an old man with gold 😂 I always got compliments with that watch.

Nice watch but here I have a question comes in my mind that why there is no made in JAPAN embossing on this watch ?? if we found swiss made watches there is embossing on it swiss made I remember in my child hood days my elders used to wear seiko 5 watches there was a embossing like made in japan can somebody answer me this question?? Looking forward for the answer!

If you don't mind the bracelet rubbing up against the case a bit (wearing off a bit of the gold) I would say replacing the bracelet like I tried here (11:03) might be a good way to mitigate the hair pulling problem. Heck, you might be able to find a bracelet that doesn't brush with the case that has solid links. Just make sure you find one with hollow end links so you can use the existing ones unless you happen upon one with solid end links made for this case, but I don't think that exists for these Seiko 5's specifically.

Its a such beautiful watch. I'm thinking about getting one but I wouldn't walk with this on the street in dark because someone would fight me because thinking it's a Rolex😂 so I'm not sure if I should get one or not. These are discontinued right? Great video by the way👍🏻

No they are not I just bought one myself. Don't let fear stop you from enjoying yourself . Just make sure to wear it around a mature crowd or group.

I think a person trying to steal it, knows how to spot a Rolex. I have the orient TriStar (very similar design) and I would never think it's a Rolex Chill and buy it, it's beautiful 😉

Yeah, I'd prefer a slightly larger crown myself, I have another similar DIY Seiko 5 build that has an even worse crown that is horrible to use. I will say that, despite the SKN366's crown size, there are no problems with the operation of the crown. I think that if I did upgrade this one to an NH36 it wouldn't be a problem winding the watch.

@@vassildelev2806 Yeah, the stem for the NH36/NH35 is different to the 7s26 because of the hacking and hand winding features. You'd need to remove the crown from the 7s26 stem and attach it to a new, sized up, stem for the NH36/NH35.

The 7S26 is no longer state of the art. I upgraded a SKX last year to NH 36.

I agree, although I still like the 7S26 because its equally as robust as the NH36 from my experience. You can't beat the hacking and hand winding of the NH36/4R36. I just shot a video today changing the movement in this watch to an NH36.

You should be more worried about that non fluted barrel than the rolled links. Blasphemy to not have the fluted barrel. Nobody cares that your Seiko 5 has rolled links! Haha!
