Seiko 5 SNK809 watch review | There is a reason this is an icon! 

In this video review, I take a look and the legendary Seiko 5 SNK809 automatic field style watch.
This amazing little watch is from Seiko’s older Seiko 5 collection before it was revamped in 2019. Out of the hundreds of models that were released under the old Seiko 5 brand, the SNK809 is easily the most know and iconic of the older Seiko 5 catalog. Looking over the features of this watch, it is easy to see why this little, affordable automatic watch punches higher then then the sum of it’s parts. We have clear and crisp printing on the dial to tell the time. This uses a separated hour and minutes track that make this watch extremely easy to read. This design is an homage of the German Flieger pilots watches of the Second World War. However due to its smaller size and intended use, this watch feels more at home claiming it as a field tool watch. This watch also has all the great proprietary Seiko features, resulting in an attractive overall package. This includes Seiko’s Lumabrite lume, the dual winding “magic lever” system, the Diashock anti-shock shock absorption system built into their automatic watches. This means a lot of things you know are going g to be reliable for a decade or more before a service is needed.
Overall this is easily one of the most iconic Seiko models ever and there is a reason it has achieved a cult classic status.
