This is an unboxing and my 'first' impressions of the beautiful Seiko 5 SNXS79K (a malaysian version of the SNXS79). The gorgeous grey sunburst dial makes the watch look a lot more expensive and luxurious than it really is. From a distance, nobody would ever guess you're wearing such a humble little Seiko 5, but that's part of what makes these watches so great.

The entire #Seiko5 line offers pretty great value in terms of and are some of the most affordable mechanical watches one can buy. The #Seiko SNXS79 was actually my first when I started getting into mechanical watches a few years ago. More about that in a future video.

. My Seiko 5 Actus (same like yours) is 40 years old and i serviced it for the 1st time 1 year ago. The man who serviced it did a great job. It looks like new again. Accuracy around +10 seconds/day and it is a beauty to watch its sweeping second hand moving.

Just a suggestion, you could move your watches less during videos, and much more slowly.

My favourite watch of all time. I’ve got the J and K version. If I had to have just one watch for life it would be this watch. Great review buddy. Good luck with your channel. 👍🏽

Hey Ryan! Super interesting that you own both variants. I much prefer the J version (LOVE Kanji day wheels) but couldn't get my hands on it. Do you favor one over the other? Appreciate the kind words!

ChronometerCheck I don’t think there is any differences between the K and J model to be honest but I bought 2 just in case they stop making them or I lose one, damage one or one gets stolen. If you want a J version they are still selling them on Jomashop. @@Ryan-jr2cv The J version has a different alternate day wheel! The days are written in Japanese, it's pretty sweet, while the K version is written in Spanish, I believe. Thanks! Now is the question... Do I also need two? 😂

Great watch I have the snxs 73j1 silver dial and I've put it into the same case as the snk355 k1 you have and it really makes it perfect in my eye's. You're doing a great job with your channel keep up the good work .

The only SEIKO-5's dials I don't like and they are deal braker too is when they add the "S P O R T S" script under the "5" shield, I can't stand that.

Same watch except the J version is made in Japan, sometimes has a Kanji date wheel, and has slightly different text at the bottom of the dial, but basically the same watch, functionally.

I’ve seen an review of this one about the lug to lug height is high and it leaves space on your wrist and it does not hug your wrist fully like normal watches do, does it bother you or is there any weird feeling about it? Is it noticeable?

Which do you think you prefer for everyday use this dial or the silver dial the 73? For everyday use kinda stucked between those two

Really just comes down to personal preference. Either will work perfectly as an everyday watch. Don't stress yourself out over the decision too much. Pick the one that speaks to you most and enjoy!

@@davidsonviray1403 I see what you mean. I can assure you both of these watches are pretty low profile. I've worn many many many watches across different price ranges (from Seiko 5 all the way up to watches that cost thousands) and most of the time, unless someone is a watch enthusiast also, they won't notice, unless you're wearing something quite flashy with lots of gold, or something extremely popular like a Rolex. I think they are both very discreet and will fly under the radar (and the sleeve of your shirt) :). If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

@@davidsonviray1403 Yes I think they are kind of redundant to both own in a collection. Pick one and start there. You will be happy with either one, and get a different watch for your 2nd instead:)

He says 7" but he may be overstating. I have 7.25" wrists and it definitely wears smaller than it seems his does. It's a great little watch, though!

@@jacobt1027 there are PLENTY watches from other brands that come with better bracelets than this. Even Teddy Baldassarre has made videos talking about the bracelet being sub par.
