I’ve had the gold version of this for years. I love them! I was thrilled to see Seiko release this new version in quartz rather than the solar that I have. It just makes for a cleaner dial. I kinda appreciate that they aren’t mechanical, which makes them so so thin. It’s something you don’t even notice because of the lack of the running seconds hand.

How do Russell’s thumbnails always get me?! 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ so tempted by one of these! If I didn’t have the Cartier tank already, I’d definitely scoop one of these up!

I never wanted a square watch either until I stumbled across the Santos de Cartier in blue and instantly fell in love. It's a gorgeous watch and sporty unlike the tank. Try to get your hands on one to review. I'd love to see what you and especially your wife thinks of the Santos

My grandfather wore a Pulsar watch very similar to this but gold plated and black dial. It no longer works but is in my watch box to remember him. Yes a sob story but would love to wear one like it to remind me of him. Thanks Russ!

I have the original version of this watch from the mid 80's. It's smaller than this version. More like the classic tank. It was my grandfather's watch and I am in complete love with it. It was a retirement gift from his employer and my grandmother gave it to me (as the oldest grandson) when he passed away. It's engraved on the case back with his retirement date and a message from his team. I wear it on a bunch of straps, from leather to a gold mesh bracelet that matches the case perfectly. I can just see him every time it's on my wrist.

I'm just getting into the whole wristwatch thing and when I saw the Cartier Tank lineup I immidiately fell in love with those. Then I saw the price of those and realised that I'm not gonna make that much money in my whole life. So I looked into square watches and saw this Seiko one. In fact I was just seeing a video about this watch when you uploaded this video. Lastly I just really like and enjoy your videos and your attitude is really unique.

So how does one get a chance to win the watch? Or did I misunderstand something

My first watch was a seiko solar , SNE361 that my father gave me when i was 15, (22now) , i loved seikos ever since, see pictures of them on instagram, watch videos about them on YT, rarely any other brands of watches have watches that i like (apart from casio, who doesn't like casios), and seiko models for some reason seem to hit me different all the time. I'd like to have a square watch because it's unique, and I've been seeing videos of the cartier tank nonstop now for about a few months but i will never afford that because i am a broke student.

Ive never had a square watch (other than a g shock). I kind of feel the same way about dress watches as you. I would rock this thing though, Seiko doing Cartier is cool for all kinds of reasons. I like the fact that Seiko basically handed the Swiss watch industry their asses several times over the decades, and this watch is like a sly hot take, with the jewel on the crown and everything. You get the feeling that Seiko is kind of just tolerating the Swiss guys, able to best them at every turn, in high horology, and with this little guy. They have a sense of humor.

I own a santos because it’s a little more sporty and I like you don’t really have a need for a “dress” watch 99% of the time. I’m very glad options like this exist for that reason

Really like the look of a square watch. I want to wear it in a call videocall (while working from home) with a fancy shirt + shorts and crocs as nobody will know for sure hahaha

I had one of these! The only reason i sold was because it sat more than it was worn 😅 but for 1/10th or even less the cost of a tank solo, its one hell of a watch!

This will be the perfect watch to substitute the hideous apple watch! I got one for Christmas and never took it out of the box because it is rubbish and I gave it to my cousin who was dying for one. This watch I can wear every day and that is just perfect. Love your channel and the content.

Because I need a dress watch with a white dial and a seiko in my collection + a square watch would be quite original so this one would be very cool for a young collector like me !

My first watch was a seiko gold tank. I still have it. I love it. I haven't worn it for 30 years. Bracelet is too small. The big thing that messing me up is the Roman numerals at the 4 is IIII instead of IV, that throws me off but that's a nice watch. Handset is capped. Wish they were blue. I really like it. It should last 35 years like mine.

Why should I receive this Seiko Cartier, because I don’t have one, I like Seiko, I love quartz, I need another dress watch as I don’t have but a couple, I’m recently retired and have started as a hobby to collect watches and work on them as well, a life long dream of mine I now get to practice, acquiring this watch would be a nice addition to my small but growing unique collection of watches and isn’t a Casio, which are also awesome. I've just bought this from Joma shop.. very affordable. I too am not a dress watch guy, but I like this and would argue it's work's for casual or general wear as well. It's definitely not a sporty watch. But for casual going out, it works as well as an office

Well, because time flies when I am having fun, and with a watch, I can make sure it doesn't fly away too fast and leave me wondering where the day went! Plus, I will always be fashionably on time for all my important meetings. And if all else fails, I can always use it as a handy paperweight.

The Seiko 2620-5049 (made in 1980) nails the proportions/dial. Recently bought one to replace another Seiko Tank that I no longer have. I usually wear G-Shocks or a field watch but every so often I want to wear a dress watch, specially a Tank style. They look great with casual clothes if you put them on grosgrain bands or brown leather, too.

There is something appealing about the small square watch. Lightweight and thin something you can put on and not even notice you're wearing. I don't see an issue with it . Maybe not for everyone or everyday but a good pice to have in the collection

I'm building a three watch collection, and have so far bagged myself a blue Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba and a black Tag Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph. I'm hoping for a white dress watch to finish the collection off, and my girlfriend - who I've been with for years - has hinted that she'll buy me a lovely Seiko as an engagement gift (she knows I like the Presage lineup). If I were to have such a watch fall into my possession, however, I'd know that I was marrying for love... and not just because there was a cool watch in it for me!! 😅😂

Nice! You can even have a textured dial with the SSEH001 and SSEH002 for 200 bucks. Not bad!

I own a SARX045 and always wanted a second watch for alternatives. Never found any other models that captivated me to get as I felt it will get overshadowed by my SARX045. However with the seiko "tank" unique design, it definitely stand out a lot and gives a reason for swapping out my watch for my daily. Cheers.

Hey MWC, I’m retiring from my 28 year Special Education teaching position in May. In July I’ll be moving from Chicago to Las Vegas because live there (believe it or not is not as expensive). What are your views a put casio tank!? Ik it’s not s true homage to any particular cartier but it’s a mix of santos and some other cartier models.

The seiko タンク(tank) I'm the same as you never been sure of the whole cartier (one who transports goods) thing but still think do I need an odd shape watch in my collection to mix it up.

As I do have to dress up for work, and am a big Seiko fan, it definitely appeals to me. Most of all, all of my cuffs are quite tight, and it's hard to find a watch that fits under them. 6mm should do nicely.

When I was 8 years old I found a knock off version of the Cartier tank, I thought it was from the 1800’s 😂. Gives me real 90’s nostalgia everytime I see one of those rectangular pieces on a wrist. It may not be your style but I sure would rock that!

I've been eyeing this watch for quite some time. Love the layout and design. I wear suits often and I prefer to follow dress codes of Cary Grant, Sinatra and JFK. I always thought this watch would complement my style, but have never seen this in the flesh to see how it wears. You and I have a similar wrist size, and I think this will fit the bill. I held my Seiko Tank with solar dial, not the one in the video, next to real Cartiers and the Seiko won. It’s nicer than the $3-6k Cartiers but not as nice as the $20k ones. So cheap everyone should try it.

I never cared much for the Cartier Tank. I actually like this Seiko somewhat better. Not much in the Cartier lineup that interests me, but the Santos de Cartier WSSA0048 is an exception.

I'm with Roman numerals as you, usually it belongs to a wall clock. But with a fine Cartier-like dress watch I can make an exception. It's stylish as hell, I have a bunch of vintage dress watches but none of them looks so classy as a Tank.

I would love to gift this watch to my dad. He was never much into watches, until i hooked him up with an old vintage citizen that looks like this seiko. I think he needs an upgrade :-)
