Under the microscope, even the enamel dials of ultra-high horology watches have imperfections such as the specks you observed -- so no worries. On a side note, I love your great horological taste and enthusiasm! Accordingly, your watch reviews are among the most thorough and insightful on RU-vid -- you should have a million subscribers.
Haha ok good mine isn’t broken 👌🏻. And you’re much too kind, thank you I appreciate it. Maybe one day, but for now I’m happy with those who stumble across what I do and like it.
I'm a fan of Seiko dress watches and this one is beautiful. The enamel dial is attractive and balanced with the retrograde sub-dials. I did not know this elegant watch existed, and I enjoyed learning about it. Nice episode and great strap pairings!
Thanks for watching! It really is a fun piece. Seiko makes so many watches I’m sure there are plenty of little odd ball things no one knows about but that are amazing
I always enjoy the strap parade, for me it is one of the high points of your reviews. I have the same size wrists, and probably hands, as you, and seeing how well this SARD looks on you motivates me to have it. It looks elegant and special, like a 19th century pocket watch
Beautiful watch, I didn't know this one existed! Really like the video's. I'm getting the Presage Black cat martini soon, and these Presage video's are really getting me excited :)
"They have to put things on the dial, and let the world know what else is going on" haha I feel that. I don't know why brands need to print a spec sheet on the dial. The owner should know what it does and its too small to advertise to anyone else. Anyways I've always seen these models with incredible dials from Seiko but they've always been sized too large IMO for that type of watch. PS you should do an SOTC, you have an eclectic collection. Great review!
Ya that’s how I feel, wonder why companies consistently do it 🤷🏻♂️ if they made a smaller 36 or even 38 thinner version man, that would be amazing. But guess you can’t have the world. And I did a sotc last year but it has changed a lot from them. Heavily downsized, so maybe I’ll do another at the end of the year.
I have the same watch and I can’t believe how accurate mine is. It’s been +2 seconds after 6 months of daily wear. Maybe I got lucky? Just a beautiful and accurate watch.
I have an SARX027, my only Seiko purchase. It's this same design lineage, though it lacks your extra complications. Same script for the indices, same enamel dial, same sapphire crystal. Bought it at LongIslandWatch before Seiko forced them to stop selling JDM (at least that is what seems to have happened). I kind of like the strap and deployant largely because it is a single fold over and easy to put on and off and comfortable on wrist.
Nice! And I like the idea of the deployant clasp but hardly do I like it on wrist. Pin buckles just tend to be sleeker and straps aren’t that crazy expensive to wear you can’t buy another after a couple years. Glad it works for out for you though! Saves you some trouble haha
What a stunner! It's one of those special watches where the more attention you focus on it the more amazing and beautiful it is. Did you call the crown a "buttercup" shape? Is that a thing? I'm curious how you ended up choosing that word.
Thank you and honestly since I do the reviews on the fly with no notes sometimes some words escape me 😂 I was thinking it looks like a Reese’s peanut butter cup. I think the correct term is conical. Much less cool 😂
Here's a question for you - is the date complication usable please? I am someone who requires a date on the watch and use it a lot. Would a date complication like this work for my needs?
Beautiful dial! The worst part of the "Seiko, Automatic, 31 jewels" text is that it is 3 different fonts. At least they are in the same color, unlike the overrated Alpinist. You have a good eye for straps. My favorite was that dark green one.
