I recieved my 317 via courier yesterday, and it looks even better in person. I rather like the un obtrusive date window, we all carry a phone these days. I have ordered a Crown & Buckle Black / Slate wrist strap, now awaiting its arrival .. Thanks for your nice vid 👍
I'm glad you like the videos! Comments like yours mean a lot and I appreciate it! My channel is certainly not everyone's choice but it's great to know someone is watching.
I’m with you on the bezel insert, I want aluminum or steel. Seems like everyone gets upset when new models come out and don’t have ceramic. I hate the gloss of ceramic bezels, and they just don’t make sense on a tool watch, they can shatter. You won’t shatter a steel insert, only scratch it
Im wearing a SRPE93J1. I love it, and love it on the silicone so much. But I wish the silicone had more adjustment holes or they were closer together. these metal keepers, while stylish, are a pain in the ass. Doesnt work too well and it scratches and scuffs to hell and back pretty damn soon after the first wear. I think my next turtle will be the slim. 😂
There are so many things Seiko got "right" about this watch. A proper tool/beater feel to it, perfect dial symetry (no annoying retarded placement of lume necessary at the 3 o'clock date position - just to comply with ISO certification), fully graduated bezel and so on.

Love the execution of this watch but I really like this bracelet. Can't decide if I am going to buy the spb317 and then have to purchase the factory bracelet separately, or just go with the spb315 🤔. Great review!
Thanks, a very helpful review. The best advice was your last advice, buy it used. It's not a top tier diver like the MM300 but it's very nice and a step up from the Turtle. All the best.
Glad you enjoyed it David and thanks for your comments. I would not advise anyone to buy a 6r Seiko watch of any kind new as I believe they are overpriced but on the second hand market they are well worth it. Beautiful designs, no one does it like Seiko!
Nice but one thing I have against all my seiko automatics is they’re not cheap to service, which the’ll need in a few years. My next watch purchases will be the Seiko Solar or Citizen Ecodrive. They keep better time and make more sense because they’re lighter and should last longer and be cheaper come service time.
Nice watch but a misaligned bezel on a £600 to £700 watch means it's not for me - ever. Even the bezel on my ten quid quartz watch I bought back from a 1980s trip to the old Soviet Union lines up exactly.
Why oh why does it have that PATHETIC date window? This spoils it, for me. For such a handsome watch aswell. Makes me sick. Fantastic review and channel. I like the cut of your jib
