Seiko X Hello Kitty's Shinkansen
Shinkansen Series 500 "Hello Kitty Shinkansen"
A unique Hello Kitty Shinkansen that has been in operation since June 30, 2018, on the Sanyo Shinkansen connecting Shin-Osaka and Hakata, and is popular with a wide range of generations. The 500 series' unique smart long-nose vehicle is designed with the concept of "Hello Kitty that connects many people by tying them with ribbons." The exterior is an image of Hello Kitty fluttering a bright pink ribbon. In addition, the café and shop attached to the train are also designed with Hello Kitty in mind.
The Hello Kitty 500 Series Shinkansen is Sanrio’s themed high-speed bullet train operated by West Japan Railway Company.
The train is decorated, with images of Sanrio’s popular character Hello Kitty.
Two 500 Series Shinkansen trains were revamped and fitted with a Hello Kitty design throughout the carriages, as well as the exterior.
The bullet trains entered service into June 2018.
These trains connect the western cities of Osaka and Hakata in Fukuoka, Japan.
